TIMELINE

1972 The ministry, originally known as Hosanna, is founded as a Christian tape-lending library.

1987 Dramatized audio versions of the New Testament are first released.

1989 Bible listening programs, encouraging group learning and discussion, begin in U.S. churches.

1995 The ministry changes its name to Faith Comes By Hearing, a reference to Romans 10:17.

2004 The Proclaimer, containing dramatized, audio versions of the New Testament, is introduced. The digital device, which can be plugged in, battery operated, solar powered or hand cranked, today is used to proclaim the Word of God to groups in almost 200 countries.

2007 Every Church Every Village starts as a program to equip churches with Proclaimers to take on their mission trips.

2008 Military BibleSticks, small digital audio players pre-loaded with the New Testament and specially selected Psalms, are first distributed to bring God’s Word to U.S. troops.

2009 The ministry introduces the palm-sized Mini Proclaimer.

2010 The Digital Bible Platform launches and later becomes the world’s largest repository of digital Bible text, audio and video.

2012 The Deaf Bible App is released to engage the deaf using sign language.

2013 Virtual Recording opens up participation in Scripture recording to anyone with a computer, microphone and Internet connection.

2015 The ministry launches an aerospace division to expand on its use of satellite technology to broadcast audio Bible content worldwide, including remote areas and countries where Christians face persecution.
