The Maverick Mathematician - Maths Patterns
452= 2025 and 20 + 25 = 45

453= 91125 and 9 + 11 + 25 = 45

454= 4100625 and 4 + 10 + 06 + 25 = 45

455= 184528125 and 18 + 4 + 5 + 2 + 8 + 1 + 2 + 5 = 45

456=8303765625and 8 + 3 + 0 + 3 + 7 + 6 + 5 + 6 + 2 + 5 = 45

Finally, look at this sum: 12 + 43 + 65 + 78 = 87 + 56 + 34 + 21

At first glance it does not seem terrifically impressive. Howevereachside uses the digits 1 - 8 and the whole equation is a palindrome. It still remains valid if you square each term. You should now realise how maths and maths patterns can be quite addictive. Source: http://www.mathscentre.co.nz/

Answers for page 2: A test with 66: x-((x+66)-100)=x-x-66+100=34

Dice = 21 and Age = 238, but why? Can you prove using algebra?

A test with 66

Write down any number from 50 to 100.

Add 66.

Note the last two digits of the sum. Call this number k.

Subtract k from the number you first thought of.

What is the result?

A trick with 3 dice.

Toss 3 dice on the table. Call them A, B and C.

Write down the total showing on A and B.

Turn B and C upside down and write the total showing.
