Rules and Regulations

General Rules

  1. Be on time. Class begins with the bell, so if you are not ready to begin at that time, you are late and a Tardy Will Be Issued.
  2. Be prepared. Come to class with all class items and homework as well as a writing utensil.
  3. Please use the restroom at your discretion.
  4. All bags (including purses, ladies) MUST BE KEPT ON THE FLOOR AT ALL TIMES.
  5. Keep your phones away. It is rude to have them out and to sneakily check them. Your parents know where you are; if there is an emergency, they will call the school, I promise.
  6. Please remain seated while I am instructing. It is distracting to others’ learning when you are up and about without a purpose.
  7. Respect the property of others. If it is not yours, do not touch it!
  8. I will never discuss your grade in class in front of anyone. See me about your grades if/when you have a question or need to clarify something.

Work Rules

  1. Most homework is due the day after I have assigned it; due dates are very important in the real world, and by keeping true to due dates, you are preparing for your career. I will not accept late homework.
  2. For larger scale items (papers, the research paper, etc.), they will be accepted late, but will suffer a letter-grade-loss each day it is late (therefore, after 5 days late, it is a 0%)
  3. You will be given plenty of time to complete all major assignments for me. Therefore, you must manage your time wisely. I do not listen to excuses because you poorly planned your time. Computers DO NOT crash as frequently as students say they do.
  4. If you cheat, you fail.

Attendance Rules

  1. Try to be here every day. This class moves at a quick pace and frequent absences may make it difficult to catch up. However, if/when you are out sick, remember that YOU are responsible to find out what you missed and make it up within 3 days, otherwise, missed work becomes a 0%
  2. E-mail me with questions and clarification…don’t just guess at what you missed. I check my e-mail about 20 times each day.
  3. Missing class for an appointment, college visit, vacation, field trip, etc. is NOT considered an absence as these were planned events, plan ahead!

Grading Rules

  1. All grades are computed on a total point basis. I do not curve.
  2. Extra Credit is not allowed in the district.

You can ALWAYS schedule an appointment with me to discuss anything (i.e. grades, assignments, projects, reading, etc.).
