Full Time/3 Year Term

Southeast Missouri State University seeks a dynamic and creative business professional to lead the Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The successful candidate will demonstrate an entrepreneurial outlook, the ability to build stakeholder relationships, and the desire to work in an energetic, collaborative environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, secure, and manage grants and other financial incentives that provide resources to promote entrepreneurship and economic development
  • Collaborate with local, regional, state and federal agencies and organizations to develop initiatives that accelerate entrepreneurship and economic development
  • Recruit clients to the business incubator and provide mentoring programs by maintaining a network of technical assistance providers
  • Contribute to development and coordination of co-curricular activities that provide entrepreneurship students’ experiential learning opportunities
  • Supervise assistant directors and professional staff of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
  • Provide high-level of customer service to stakeholders and internal and external partners

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated experience seeking and administrating grants or other resources used to promote entrepreneurship and economic development
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical assistance to small businesses or as a small business manager or owner
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with a variety of stakeholders to develop initiatives that accelerate entrepreneurship and economic development
  • Demonstrated understanding of business incubation practices and strategies
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and writtencommunication skills
  • Excellent computer and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with multi-cultural populations and awareness of issues affecting women and minorities

Compensation: Commensurate with education and experience. The University provides an excellent benefits package including retirement, medical and life insurance, paid time off, sick leave, holidays, individual and dependent tuition benefits.
