[11.8] Optional “What If” Reinforcement(Two Player or Solo)
Austrian allied commander Schwarzenberg had received orders from Napoleon directing him to head northwards and join up with the main body. Needless to say the Austrian commander tallied and basically wanted to preserve his force for the upcoming future conflict with the French. This supposes that he heeded and obeyed Napoleon’s orders like a good allied officer .
On the game turn that the French receive(if at all) the French VII corps via Event Card draw he then rolls a one die. On a die roll of 6 he also receives the Allied Austrian Sch 3-2 unit along with the French VII at Entry Area A(The Sch unit is provided for in another file or downloading and printing out)
[11.8.1] Optional French Cavalry
This presumes Napoleon scrapped together enough horses to make a Ad Hoc cavalry unit.This could effect play balance towards the French player
The French player takes the French Ic 1-3 Cavalry corps from the Borodino countersheet and places it in hex 1111 at the beginning of the game
[11.8.2] Tchichagov the Bold
Admiral Tchichagov has his act together at the Berezina and believes his patrol reports that the French really are wanting to cross where he is the weakest. This will effect play balance towards the Russian player
The Two Russian Reinforcements-Vo and RSV arrive automatically the turn after the French have cross over to the west bank of the Berezina.. They do not have to roll for entry under rule 11.7
[17.0] Solo Play Option
Because of the nature for playing the game solitaire the gamer doesn’t have much outside influence concerning where he makes the French crossing at. This variant adds some fog of war to where he is directed too. Thus Napoleon makes the decision and the gamer is carrying out his directive.
[17.1]Crossing Point
The player at the beginning of the game rolls one die. That number rolled is the crossing point the he must head towards and crossover at.
