10 to 12 January 2017, Exhibition Centre Düsseldorf

7 December 2016

Complete programme for the Industry Customer Day on Thursday: Best Practice Forum at PSI 2017

There’s lots to see and experience at trade shows. PSI, the Leading European Trade Show of the Promotional Products Industry, is no exception. For the first time ever, advertising agencies and marketing executives from German-speaking industry companies will be able in 2017 to attend PSI to see and experience promotional products and their diversity. Upon being invited by their PSI promotional products consultant, they can attend the show on 12 January. During their visit, they should not miss any of the information offered, which on that day is targeted in part at industry companies. The all-day Best Practice Forum in Hall 9 will deliver information on promotional products deployment, selection tips, and best practices to make the next campaign a success.

On 12 January, it will be entrepreneurs, doers and practitioners who’ll impart their promotional products knowledge. Dr. Frank Hülsberg, senior partner at Warth & Klein Grant Thornton, is one of them. The head of Governance, Risk & Compliance will present his lecture, titled “Compliance and sales promotion”, on Thursday. He’ll reveal current aspects of the discussion revolving around compliance in sales along with possible real-world solutions.

Olaf Hartmann, founder and managing director of the agency Touchmore and co-founder of the Multisense Institute, will talk about brands with multisensory communications and the contribution of promotional products to brand success. In his presentation “See it. Touch it. Love it.”, he’ll explore key neuroscientific insights on perception and buying motivation, and he’ll explain why haptics, in particular, are uniquely effective in a visually and acoustically overstimulated world.Similarly, Prof. Dr. Wilfried Leven, among other jobs the managing director of Make or Buy, will use his lecture “Hapticals: Experience brands with all your senses” to explain why haptic items are an important component of holistic brand management. He’ll also outline how to select matching promotional products for the brand.

On Thursday, Christoph Kahlert, an expert for strategic communication and the development of cross-media campaigns to build and protect reputation, will provide information on the Sustainability Image Score (SIS). Titled “Customers want green brands”, his contribution examines how sustainability can be used in communication and marketing to nurture the image consumers hold of brands, companies or industries. “Green, Clear, Fair, True & Sexy“ is the name of a related lecture by sustainability expert Jürgen May. He’ll reveal why, in light of the EU’s sustainability reporting mandate, it would be advisable even for small and medium-sized companies to professionalise their CSR management.

Achim Christa, marketing director of calender maker Lediberg, will argue that the right message generates more attention. His compact presentation will be called “Storytelling”. Participants will learn how to craft a message that’s emotional, authentic and creative. Furthermore, Christa will explain how to identify the right target audience to spotlight the right products.

What do campaigns look like that don’t try to pull users into the company’s marketing cosmos and instead manage to reach them right where they are? Patrick Dörfler, considered a pioneer of alternative marketing strategies, will draw on insights and best practices to answer precisely that question in his talk “The new matter-of-fact world of digital”.
