4.Begin collecting your sale items. Plan on bringing more than your minimum number of items to ensure a Pre-Sale Pass. All garments will be inspected and 15 items must be approved to receive a Pre-Sale pass.As you evaluate your goods for sale, ask yourself the following questions:

a. Are my items in excellent condition, free from stains, holes, missing buttons/snaps

b. Are my items clean, odor free, and in style for the current selling season?

c. Are my toys and equipment clean? Do all my toys and equipment work and have batteries that show they work?**If the batteries are dead, please put in batteries that show the toy works. Suggestions: Put in an older set of batteries or buy cheap batteries at the $1Store(4 AA batteries cost $1).

d. Is my car seat a 2004 model or newer?

e. Is this fad item still popular-Pokemon, Beanie Babies etc.?

5.GARMENT PREPARATION

a. Hang all garments on hangers with the hook facing left, like the shape of a question mark.

b. Button all buttons, snap all snaps, tie all bows, zip all zippers-This decreases time spent at check-in and increases shopping ease because one can easily see that garment is intact.

c. Use regular size safety pins to attach items to the hanger; the tiny gold pins are not easy to remove.

d. Matching accessories: Safety pin these items to the outfit.

e. Shirts: Safety pin hanger at shoulders, if necessary. Pants/skirts: Safety pin to hanger at waistband so the pants can be seen. Please do not fold pants over the hanger.Two-piece outfits: Put shirt on the hanger. Pin pants/skirt waistband to the shoulders of the shirt with garments pinned back-to-back. Pants/skirt behind the shirt.Linens: Try to hang on hangers for optimal viewing and selling.Shoes: Put together, tie laces, or buckle. We prefer the use of zip ties or safety pins to secure the shoes as a pair, however if using baggies, place tag inside of the bag on the side of the sole as to not hinder the appearance of the shoes.

6.TOY/GAME PREPARATION

a. Clean, clean, clean!

b. Package small pieces, directions, and puzzle pieces in a clear, sealed bag. Tape the bag to the toy with clear, packing tape or inside a compartment if available.

7.TAG ITEMS using the Another Child's Treasure format. Tags should be made using the Another Childs Treasure Tag Template, copied and cut from white card stock. White card stock is available at most office supply stores. The best way to purchase this might be to go to the Copy Center of the store where the sheets are sold individually for approximately 5 to 9 cents per sheet. ( Please Do Not Use Masking Tape, Sticker Labels, Or Regular Paper Labels)

Use blue or black ink. Complete each area of the tag for accurate sizing, identification of garment and selling credit at the time of checkout. Mark designated boxes to reduce the price by 50% for the Last Chance Sale and to donate any unsold merchandise to our designated charities of Floyd County. Please make sure that you mark whether or not you want your items sold for 50% off. If information on your tag is not marked regarding the 50% off sales, your items will be automatically sold for 50% of the price.*SIZE: For Children's clothing, use number sizes only, no weight or S/M/L.* ITEM DESCRIPTION: Details here help sell an item. Start with the gender. Mention the brand name, color, shirt/dress/pant/jean/etc., you may also choose to add descriptors such as # of times worn (new, worn once, barely worn). When an item has more than one piece, then include in the description. If a non-clothing item has more than one piece, then include a tag for each piece and label each item accordingly (1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3). This helps discourage theft and tag switching. We can also match lost items with loose tags.

8.PRICE We suggest the following:

a. Price in 50 cent increments (i.e. $3.50, $6, $8.50)

b. Price items as if YOU were going to buy the item-what would I pay this for this item?

c. Price items to sell before the 50% discount because most purchases are made prior to the discount day.

d. Price only on the first tag of a multiple-tagged item.

9.WHERE DO I PUT THE TAG? - **In clear view so the purchaser can see it** Safety-pin to the front of the item on the right side of the garment as you look at the garment.Use clear packing or masking tape to attach tags to items that can’t be attached with safety pins. Be sure the tag is secure enough to withstand rigorous shopping. If a tag falls off, we can’t sell your item.
