2.  EFFECTS OF EDUCATION (acc. to National Qualifications Framework)

Knowledge / Realized aim of course is to acquaint students with basic information about methodology of molecular and cellular research, design of experiments with animal cell cultures, designing laboratory analyses.
Skills / On successful completion of the course student will be able to prepare an experimental design to verify scientific hypothesis, critically discuss results of the experiment, design practical experiment according to good laboratory practice.
Competences / On successful completion of the course student will be competent to select appriopriate laboratory techniques to accomplish research tasks in animal cellular and molecular research.

5.  SCOPE

Seminars / Different examples of research on animal model in vivo and in vitro; design and methodology of research; general methods and cell culture parameters; Statistical approach in cell based molecular analysis; Processing of the animal samples, including DNA, RNA and protein isolation; qualitative and quantitative evaluation of nucleic acids; gene expression analysis with molecular methods, preparation of the culture media; primary cell culture preparation; cell line passaging and cryopreservation;
Laboratories/Workshop / Origin and characterization of cells in culture; Basic procedures for in vitro analyses of cellular material; Techniques used in cell cultivation: feeding cells, subcultivation, preservation; Development of media and reagents; Designing molecular protocols; PCR primers design, gene expression analysis with RT-qPCR method
