In order to make phases of learning mobility more comprehensible and comparable, competences acquired abroad can be described in terms of learning outcomes. The description of learning outcomes is a methodological approach to structure the qualification independent of learning duration and learning site.

Learning outcomes are statements of what a learner knows, understands and is able to do on completion of a learning process. They are defined in terms of knowledge, skills and competence and are described from the perspective of the learner.

Examples of and support for the development of learning outcomes and thus for filling in sections 3.a. and 3.b. can be found here:

Suggestions for vocationally specific terms and possible translations can be found in the Europass Certificates Supplements at > Certificate Supplement > “this database” > full-text search

Prior to the mobility phase the learner must send the fully and precisely completed learning agreement which must bear the signatures of all players involved by snail mail (IFA, fao Carina Flandorfer, Schönbrunner Straße 3/4, 1040 Wien) or mail () to IFA.
