2 - Hotels

All the reservations should be done directly by the delegates at the hotel of their choice.However, those would like ARCEP, Benin to assist them should get in touch with the focal point by communicating the name of the hotel and the flight details by filling the attached form in Annex 2 and send a copy to email:. The special rates have been obtained from the various hotels as per annex 1 below.

Most of the hotels in the list are 5-30 minutes drive to the venue of the meeting.

ARCEP-BENIN will ensure that transport will be made available from the airport to the respective hotels and from the hotels to the venue of the meeting.

Please take note that the transport will only be made available to those staying in the list of hotels provided.

The list of hotels is in Annex 1.

3 – Airport reception

On arrival at the airport, there will be a team to transport you form the airport to respective hotels. All delegates who want to benefit from this service are requested to fill the form in Annex 4.

4- VISA Formalities

All delegates are required to have a valid passport to enter Benin. Delegates from some countries need visa to enter Benin. However member countries of ECOWAS do not require a visa. For those who do not have a Diplomatic mission of Benin in their countries, ARCEP-BENIN has taken necessary measures to facilitate obtaining entry visa on arrival at the airport in Cotonou. Delegates are requested to communicate all the required details as indicated in Annex 3.

5. Money Exchange

The local currency isFranc CFA (FCFA) and the exchange rate is as follows:

1Euro = 655,957 FCFA

1 USD = 482, 027 FCFA.

These rates are indicative and can fluctuate.

You can change your currency at the airport on arrival or at the any exchange bureau in town(Cotonou).

6- Working Hours

From Monday to Friday the Government working hours are: 8h00 to 12h30 and 15hto 18h30

Banks: 8h30 to 17h00Monday to Friday and Saturday: 9h00to 13h00.

Local time is (GMT +1).

7- Language

The official language of Benin is French.

8- Climate

The climate in Benin is equatorial and the temperatures are 30 degrees. Rain is however expected in April.

9- Telecommunications

• Emergency service number: 118

The minimum SIM cost is approximately 1000 FCFA. All the numbers should be registered in conformity with the Benin regulation.

10- Power

The voltage range is 220 Volts/50Hz. The plug for use is as shown below:

11- Water

The tap water is safe and can be taken directly. However, mineral water is available at the hotels or at the supermarkets.

12 - Health

Delegates are required to have international vaccination card especially yellow fever.

13 -Internet

Internet will be available at the meeting venue. However some hotels may charge a fee.
