EXT: OUTSIDE TEMPLE-Night (Rainy)
It is late at night when two teens, a boy and a girl are looking for shelter. It is raining pretty hard and both of them are soaked.
BOY
In there!
The boy yells as he points to an old “mansion”. The mansion is actually an old, rusty temple. It hasn’t been used in years. The temple is huge and golden. There are Egyptian symbols all over it. The boy and the girl run inside the temple.
INT: Inside the temple:
The girl and the boy walk in the temple. They take off their jackets and rinse them.
GIRL
Finally! Out of that rain!
The girl dries her hair. Suddenly, the sound of a piece of metal falling on the floor is heard.
GIRL
What was that?
BOY
I don’t know. Go check it out.
GIRL
Ah! Not by myself!
The boy sighs.
BOY
Fine.
TEMPLE-SECOND FLOOR
The boy and the girl go to check out the sound. The temple has long, dark hallways. There are paintings of people getting eaten by demons and people being brutally tortured.
BOY
I don’t see anything. Maybe it was just
your imagination.
The boy turns around. The girl is gone. The boy has a puzzled look on his face.
BOY (cont’d)
Where did you go?
Suddenly, the boy hears a growl right behind him. The growl is horrible. It sounds a like a dying dog. The boy turns around and suddenly the thing jumps at him, first biting off his legs and all his other body parts until he finally gets to his head. The boy screams in pain as he is being eaten alive by the thing in the temple.
THE NEXT DAY
CUT TO:
INT: GERALD’S APARTMENT-LIVING ROOM
A young college freshman was in his home working out. He was African American. He is light skin and has long singles stopping pass his shoulders. His name is Gerald and he is lifting weights when someone rings his doorbell.
GERALD
Hold up, hold up!
Gerald runs to the door and answers it. There stands a beautiful caramel skin African American girl. She has wavy black hair that stops at her breast. She’s wearing extremely expensive and flashing clothes.
GERALD (CONT’D)
What’s up, Alana?
ALANA
Nothing.
She giggles.
ALANA (cont’d)
I see you’re working out those abs.
Alana squeezes Gerald’s nipples.
ALANA (cont’d)
You and your sexy sweaty body.
Alana walks in his apartment and Gerald closes the door behind her. Gerald starts to wipe his face with a white towel.
ALANA
Gerald, what did the professor talk about today?
Got any notes? I know you do. Let me see ‘em.
GERALD
Yeah, I got notes. Alana, you really do need to
start coming to class. You’re gonna get kicked
out.
ALANA
Boy, you know I have too many things that I value
more then college
Alana sits down on the couch in front of the television and crosses her legs.
ALANA (cont’d)
If I get kicked out, so what? It’s not like
I’m paying for it.
Alana starts looking at her nails. Gerald sits next to her.
GERALD
Weeellll, since you don’t care, then I guess
you don’t need my notes.
Alana hits Gerald.
ALANA
Don’t play with me!
Gerald gets up and opens his book bag. He takes out ten pages of notes and gives it to Alana.
ALANA
Uh….
Alana gives the notes back to Gerald.
ALANA (cont’d)
This can wait. Anyway, I came here for something
else, too.
GERALD
What?
ALANA
Listen, Gerald. Don’t get mad, okay?
GERALD
Okay… I won’t. What is this about?
ALANA
Deacon-----!
Gerald cuts Alana off.
GERALD
Alana! You know I don’t like him! That guy tried
his hardest to make my life a living hell for
the past few years! I can’t stand him!
ALANA
(Annoyed)
Yeah, but you don’t have to be yelling at me.
(Calmed)
Anyway, Deacon, yes, DEACON, wants to show us
something. Fox, Raquel, Easton and, Danielle’s gonna
be there too.
Gerald raises an eyebrow.
GERALD
Danielle?
ALANA
(Disgusted)
Yeah…her…
(Calmed)
So let’s go!
Alana pauses.
ALANA (cont’d)
Oh, before we go, take a shower ‘cause you smell
like sweat and that’s nasty.”
EXT: In front of the mansion-Cloudy
Deacon, Fox, Raquel, Danielle and Easton are in a field waiting for Gerald and Alana to show up.
DANIELLE
Where are they? My legs are tired!
Danielle is a cute girl. She is brown skin and had long dark brown hair coming down her back. The end of her hair was dyed light brown.
RAQUEL
For real.
Raquel is pretty, but short. She is African American and light skin. Her hair stops at her shoulders. She has light brown hair.
FOX
Is that them?
Fox points at two people walking down a hill. Fox is a pretty boy. He has long hair that stop at his shoulders.
Alana runs to everyone and Gerald isn’t far behind.
ALANA
Heeey y’all! I know. I was deeply missed.
DEACON
Nobody missed you.
Deacon has a rough and mean face. He is muscular and very dark skin. Deacon is carrying a very heavy looking bag.
GERALD
So, what are we here for?
RAQUEL
To look around some house.
DANIELLE
Well, that’s boring.
Fox chuckles.
FOX
Deacon wants to “show” us something. I bet it’s
something dumb.
RAQUEL
For real. Like when we were young, he always
showed us dumb stuff.
DEACON
Raquel, shut up. I bet you don’t even remember
what I showed y’all.
RAQUEL
Yeah, I do. And you shut up!
Easton laughs.
EASTON
You guys are funny!!!
He has short hair and is brown skin. He is pretty unattractive as well.
EVERYONE
Shut up, Easton!
EASTON
O-Okay!
Easton chuckles. Alana rolls her eyes.
ALANA
Why is he here?! Shouldn’t he be at the
playground or something?
DANIELLE
Although we insisted he stay home,
(rolls eyes)
He followed us.
Gerald walks to Danielle.
GERALD
What’s up?
Danielle smiles.
DANIELLE
Hey!
Alana looks at Gerald and Danielle as if she’s getting sick.
ALANA
…Excuse me while I go throw up.
EASTON
So let’s go in, let’s go in!
Everyone walks towards the temple until they hear a voice.
????
Don’t go in there!
Everyone faces the guy. The guy is Caucasian. His silky hair was medium length and blood red.
DEACON
Who the hell are you?
RAQUEL
Hey… Isn’t that Allen? That weird, crazy
boy?
ALLEN
Why the hell are you going in that temple?
Don’t you know two people died in there last
night?
Danielle gasps.
DANIELLE
Are you serious?
DEACON
Yeah, it was in the news. So the hell
what?
EASTON
Yeah, who cares?!
GERALD
I didn’t know about that… We shouldn’t be going in
there then. The killer could still be in there.
DEACON
If he is, I’ll smoke his ass!
ALANA
Oh God. Please, stop.
ALLEN
I know what really killed those guys. The killer
wasn’t even human.
Fox bursts into laughter.
FOX
So what killed them? A monster?
Fox continues laughing.
FOX (cont’d)
What a joke.
ALLEN
Call me what you want, but I’m saving your ass.
DON’T go in there! If you do, the thing will
kill you.
RAQUEL
What’s the big deal?
(Points at the temple)
It’s just a house.
She walks in ahead of everyone. Everyone quickly follows her.
ALLEN
Don’t go in there!
Allen runs to the others.
INT: INSIDE THE TEMPLE
The temple is pretty large and dark. After Allen walks in, the lights came on, revealing the beautiful gold all around the temple. Everyone, Danielle especially, is in awe.
DANIELLE
This is so pretty!
ALLEN
I’m warning, get out of here now.
EASTEN
No one told you to come in here, man!
ALANA
No one told you to come here.
GERALD
What are we looking for?
FOX
(Sarcastic)
Lost treasure?
DEACON
As you all know, I’m broke-
ALANA
(Cuts Deacon off)
We can tell that by looking at you.
DEACON
…Anyway, if we catch the killer, we’ll get paid
nearly two million! I’ll take 90%, and you can
split the rest.
Everyone begins yelling in anger and annoyance and complains.
EASTEN
That’s not fair!
ALLEN
You’re wasting your time.
RAQUEL
Fine. I’m not helping then!
GERALD
That’s not right. How about we all get
an even amount?
DEACON
You don’t count, Gerald. I’m still getting
most of the money, but you can have more
then 10%.
RAQUEL
We better.
ALANA
No, I still don’t agree with that. If there’s
a chance I could die, you’re definitely not
getting most of the money. All of us, not
including Easton, will get an even amount.
DEACON
…Fine!
ALANA
Oh, and,
(walks to Deacon )
Where are our weapons? I know you don’t
expect us to fight whoever that maniac is
with our bare hands.
Deacon smiles deviously. He lays the bag on the ground and opens it, revealing all the different types of knives for everyone. Easton gets excited.
EASTON
Where did you get that stuff?
DEACON
I was younger, I went to summer camp, and each year
I won something because I was more talented than
everyone else.
Everyone rolls their eyes.
EASTON
Oooh! I want one!
EVERYONE
NO!
TEMPLE-UPSTAIRS
Gerald and Danielle are talking together in a long, golden, dark hallway. Danielle is holding a flashlight.
GERALD
I heard about your mother. How are you
holding up?
DANIELLE
Pretty good. It still hurts sometimes, but I’m
okay. Thanks for asking. Everyone else acts like
they don’t care about me. But if it was Alana, Raquel
or even Deacon, everyone would be feeling all sad
crying and shit. It’s like I don’t matter.
GERALD
They do care about you. If they didn’t, they
wouldn’t want you around, like Easton.
Danielle giggles.
TEMPLE-FIRST FLOOR
Fox and Raquel are walking in a hallway similar to the one Gerald and Danielle was walking in. They are playing around with each other. Fox is trying to touch all over Raquel, but she giggles and walks away.
RAQUEL
Stop it!
She giggles.
FOX
Why? You know it feel good.
RAQUEL
That’s what you think, ‘Fox’.
FOX
Why do you have to make fun of my name, huh?
RAQUEL
Cuz.
FOX
Cuz…what?
Fox slaps Raquel’s butt. She screams and laughs.
RAQUEL
Ow!
Fox wraps his arms around Raquel and starts sucking on her neck. She moans and turns around. She pushes Fox to the wall and starts kissing him. Deep, down in that same hallway, someone is watching them…
TEMPLE ENTRANCE
Allen is standing by the door, looking around the temple somewhat fearful. Deacon, Alana, Gerald, Danielle and Easton walk back to the main room.
DEACON
What did anyone find anything?
DANIELLE
Gerald and I didn’t. Did you and Alana find something?
Alana shakes her head.
GERALD
Where’re Fox and Raquel?
Fox and Raquel came to the room. Raquel is combing her hair and Fox puts his shirt back on. Alana is shaking her head.
ALANA
Eh, eh, eh. Just nasty.
DANIELLE
In…here?
Raquel giggles.
ALLEN
So…did anyone find anything?
FOX
Huh?
(Raquel giggles)
Oh. No.
DEACON
I have something to say…
(Everyone faces Deacon. Gerald doesn’t look pleased)
I lied. We’re not getting paid. There’s no killer here.
I was always curious about this place, but I didn’t to
go in here alone. So I brought you people with me.
Everyone gasps. They look angry.
EASTON
What I could have been doing other things!
Allen looks unfazed. The room starts to sparkle. Everyone begins looking around. The room starts to get even lighter.
Everyone ran to the door, but it won’t open.
ALLEN
Now we should leave.
Suddenly, a pretty, blonde girl runs to everyone screaming. As soon as she comes, a bright light flashes and knocks out everyone.
EXT: OUTSIDE THE TEMPLE
Easton is the first to wake up. He panics.
EASTON
Oh my God! They’re dead!
Allen wakes up second. Everyone else wakes up moments later.
DANIELLE
Outside? How did we get here?
Alana screams. Everyone looks at her.
ALANA
My shirt! It’s green!
She begins crying.
GERALD
Looks like that was a bust.
Everyone looks at the blonde girl.
RAQUEL
Where did she come from?
ALLEN
(Staring at the girl)
I don’t know…
The blonde girl wakes up.
BLONDE GIRL
(Happy)
We’re alive!
ALLEN
Yeah…
BLONDE GIRL
Oh, sorry, I guess I should introduce myself.
The name’s Val…or, Valerie. I was in there with
my boyfriend and he…kinda disappeared. I thought
I heard something so I ran…or at least I think.
I’m not really sure what went on in there.
Allen is staring at Valerie long and hard. She smiles at him. She looks at Gerald, who’s standing next to her.
VALERIE
(Whispering)
Why is he watching me?
Gerald shrugs.
GERALD
Anyway, I guess it’s time to go.
Everyone walks ahead. Allen and Valerie stay behind. Allen glares at Valerie one final time, and then joins the others. Valerie stays there alone, looking at Allen.
CUT TO:
INT: EASTON’S BEDROOM-Night
Easton is sleeping when something suddenly wakes him up.
FEMALE VOICE
(Whisper)
Easton… Easton…
Easton wakes up.
EXT: OUTSIDE TEMPLE-Night
Easton is suddenly in front of the temple.
FEMALE VOICE
(Whisper)
Come in Easton…
It’s obvious that Easton isn’t really “there”. He follows the voice into the temple.
INT: TEMPLE ENTRANCE-Night
Easton is in the middle of the large room in the Temple. Suddenly, a dark, shadow is standing in the room, glaring at Easton.
FEMALE VOICE
(Whisper)
In here…
The shadow disappears. Suddenly, an ugly rotting deformed beast attacks Easton. It ran so fast that we can barely see what it is. It wraps its tongue around Easton and opens its mouth wide. Easton screams in fear. There are sharp teeth all over. It’s horrible. Easton screams for his life as he goes closer and closer into the monster’s mouth. The monster begins eating Easton.
CUT TO:
INT: ALLEN’S ROOM-Night
Allen is sitting on his bed wearing a vita and boxers. He is reading a journal. While he is reading the journal, he is recording it with a tape recorder. Allen’s room is small and dark. The walls are painted black and the windows have bars on them. Allen turns the page.
ALLEN
December 23, 1973. Paula died today. Apparently, the
wound she got when she was bitten by that beast a month
ago killed her. The same thing that killed Rich most
likely killed her. Damn. All of us are dying off. Tao, Mill,
Rich and now Paula are dead. All of this started when we went
into that golden Temple. I don’t know what is killing us,
but whatever it is, it won’t stop until we all are dead. Me, Norma,
James…and…Valerie are the only ones left.
Allen flips through a couple pages.
ALLEN (CONT’D)
July 8, 1974, Norma, James and I found out a terrible
truth today. Valerie was…feeding us to the demon! She wasn’t
innocent at all. She and that beast are both demons. The demon
needs to eat a certain number of humans to get her body back.
Val kept addressing the demon as ‘Eve’. James saved Norma and
I from being eaten by that ‘Eve’. Unfortunately, James died
saving us. It’s depressing he died the way he did. I hope God
takes good care of him. Norma and I are going stay in town.
We’re going to destroy that Temple some how. If we can’t do
that, then we’re going to make no one else goes in there.
Allen puts the book down.
ALLEN
Dad… That’s it… We have to stay away from Valerie before…
Before we all die…
CUT TO:
INT: MCDONALD’S FAST FOOD RESTAURANT-Morning
Gerald, Danielle, Fox and Raquel are sitting at a table McDonald’s. Danielle is sitting next to Gerald and Raquel is sitting next to Fox. Raquel is wearing her McDonald’s uniform.
FOX
I’m mad as hell that I wasted my Friday exploring some
rusty old mansion thing.
DANIELLE
I know. Deacon could have went in there himself.
RAQUEL
There goes my new shoes…
GERALD
Deacon wasn’t lying about everything. Two people
really did die in there. If the killer really was
there we all would have all died. Let’s be grateful
for that.
FOX
Yeah, man, definitely. I look too good to die.
RAQUEL
Me too.
