2. Eligibility
1) 16 years of age or above, residing in Kuwait.
2)Kuwaiti or Non-Kuwaitiwho had studied or is currently studying Japanese language in Kuwait, or one of his/her parents isnative Japanese speaker.
3)First Place winnersoftheAdvanced Learners Contestare not eligible.
4) First Place winnersoftheBeginners-Intermediate LearnersContest have to compete in the Advanced Learners Contest.
3. Contest
1) There are two contests.Firstcontest is for Japanese language “Beginners-Intermediate Learners” and the second is for “Advanced Learners”. Each applicant should declare in advance whichcontesthe/she would take part in.

Any topic is acceptable. Topic examples are:
1) What I like and do not like about Japan.
2) Arab culture which I want to introduce to Japanese friends. / 1)Those who have studied Japanese for not more than two years.
2)Those who have lived in Japan not more than one year.
Advanced Learners / Within
4 min / Other than those described above.
Able to answer the questions after speech.
2) A winner of “Advanced Learners Contest” will be awarded the prize from Kuwait University and Japanese Society.
3) Using visual slide show such as Microsoft PowerPoint is prohibited.
4) Reading a script is NOT prohibited, but the score would be duly deducted.
5) In the advanced learners contest, there will bea short questions /answers time after a speech.
4.Evaluation Criteria
1)Scores are examined on content of speech, delivery skills, fluency, expressionof languageandanswers to the following questions if asked.
2) There is no dress code for contestants. However, the attire would NOT be counted in the judgment. During a speech, a contestant may use items, goods other than script during his/her speech; however the score would not be counted by them, either.
5. Application Procedure and deadline
1) Those who would like to participate in this contest are requested to fill in the application form and submit it to the Kuwait University( DCSCE) or notify the Japanese class teacher in Kuwait University about name and title of speech. After applying, the applicant prepare the summary of your speech in English andJapanese and send it to the Kuwait University (DCSCE) by Novermber,20th2016.
2) Application form can be filled and send to Kuwait university email:
() Kuwait University will send a confirmation reply for eachparticipant for receiving form, then will inform the selected participant within a week after receiving the application.
