1. Concept - spatial architectural expression.

The symbiosis between the material and spiritual components of architecture, building a dual role which aims to bring something new to the city and its social life.

This duality it’s enhanced by the cooperation between the feminine softness of glass, in the same time absent an present (symbol of the future) , and the masculinity of the old buiding, heavy and tectonic (symbol of the past).

The glass atrium from the inner court, separated from the extra-muros becomes the fruitfull limited space wich makespossible the germination, awakeing, andone's detachment from the reality of the urban surroundings.

The land where the strong Carpathian-Danubian-Pontic culture has its origins, linked to the paleolithic protosumerian,through Hamangia and Cucuteni cultures, is also a point of coagulation defined in the geto-dacian culture and civilization, completed by overlapping with the regions further christianization was so strong at those gates Oriental Oriental space.

The arhitectural solution came both as an expresion of the existig buiding and from the spatial and temporal becoming of the romanian culture and civilisation, form the early paleolithic, to modern history.

2. Functional scheme – main flows description.

The exhibitions are designed according to the requested theme. There are 3 acceses in the buildinug, one from Calea Victoriei, through the main foyer and two from the Old Center, through the new Foyer – the atrium. The building is organised in different sections, besides the temoporary and permanent exhibitions, there are also multifunctional spaces, educational areas, administrative offices, auxilliary spaces etc. The main goal of the transformation of the museum is the intervetion in the interior court, which becomes a city lounge, facilitating the relation with the old part of the town.

3. Exhibitional scheme – Travelling the routes through the exhibition is a journey to and from origins, and goes back to history and to the colective subconscious - The Temple of Romanian civilization.

4. The Column - axis mundi - a sun clock, symbolising the genesis, the history of the people from Cucuteni - Hamangia, to Romania's modernisation in the Royalty period.

5. Aprroaching structural issues by consolidating the old building, and building the infrastructure and sub terranean construction elements for rebuilding and covering the courtyard.

All the facade walls will be reinforced with a concrete layer.

Reconstruction of the slab from the corner of Franceza and Postei street.

Demolishing the transversal walls of the main wing of the building and the coresponding slab from the attic, and replacing it with a light slab so the attic can be reused.

The demolishon of the partition walls and the restauration of the aula’s original plan.

The replacement of the old elevators with new panoramic ones and the restauration of the stairs to their initial monumentality.

The reopening of the voids bellow the skylights.

The entresol (mezzanine) demolition as per the initial project.
Strenghtening the 6 ground floor pillars, built in 1970, for extending the upper floors.

6. Bioclimatic principles - LEED / BREAM certification.

All in one- structure, decoration, climatisation system.

-Energy saving – glass covering with graphen layer

-Photovoltaic surfaces for renewable electric energy

-Sola pamel for water heating

Fitting proper building equipment and instalations to result in an eco-friendly facilty.

7. Mith and legend

Space & structure - the focal point, this strucural and spacial element is both architecture and structure, genrating both internal and external space, servicing the building's heating or cooling sistem, generating architecture beyond the visible. The end-user will be experiencing a series of feelings and sensations.

Giving that the symbol, mith and image are the verg substance of spiritual life, the symbolism of these sanctuaries can be seen as a celestial urano – solar simbolism.

Sacred geto- dacian, hermeneutics is very similar to celtic and druidic ones.

Sarmisegetuza

The graphic images and symbols of the geto-dacians represents the gramar and syntax of a metalanguage that conveys a system of archetypal thinking. The symbolism of the megalitic groups (the circle, the half moon, the concentric serpentine like circle arches, the zig zags with 13-17 dregrees or 29-30 turning points).
