Code of Conduct

Lats’ Kids Club is a sharing club, where all children feel equally valued. Children are expected to behave appropriately within the club environment. Bullying and physical violence are unacceptable. We follow an anti-discriminatory policy. Please see the Club’s Behaviour Management Policy.

Partnership with parents/carers

The club is consistent and reliable, enabling you to plan with confidence and peace of mind. Parents/carers are welcome to take an active role in the club. You are invited to share and discuss your child’s achievements, experiences, progress and friendships.

We aim to run the club ideally suited to the families who use it. Any ideas and suggestions from children, as well as parents/carers are welcomed, and we try to incorporate these where possible.

Welcome to Lats’ Kids Club

Thank you enquiring in placing you child with Lats’ Kids Club Limited, where every child is valued and encouraged.

We provide a secure and enjoyable environment for children to play and grow. The Club meets in our downstairs Community Room. Our Club follows the Playwork Principles, so children are able to take an active role in the daily running of the club. Each day, there is a selection of activities and resources, designed to suit all ages. These include outdoor play equipment, dressing up corner, computer games including PS3, educational resources and a range of other games. We enjoy the use of the ICT room, play ground and hall, which are used to host a range of exciting activities.

Snack Time For children attending the full session, we provide a delicious, healthy snack, served around 4:30pm. We use fresh ingredients and follow the statutory guidelines. We meet individual dietary requirements and parental preferences wherever possible. Drinking water is available at all times.

We recognise the importance of healthy nutrition for children delivered in a friendly setting. Children are encouraged to be independent during snack times, by deciding what they might like to eat each week, and helping to clear their plates away.

Staff Our Club is staffed by Manager Lats Patel, Deputy Manager Rana Rashid, and five playworkers. In addition we have volunteer staff. Our staff are enthusiastic and reliable, allowing for a smooth transition between the School and Club.

All of our staff have significant experience of working with children and undertake professional development training of the following qualification: first aid, food safety, health and safety, child protection, SENCo, equalities and inclusion. Over 50% of our Play workers are NVQ2 or NVQ3 qualified in play work or child care, and are encouraged to attend further vocational training. All staff members are DBS checked. We maintain a staff/child ratio of 1:8 for children under the age of eight, 1:10 for children over the age of eight, in line with statutory requirements.

Booking sessions

You must complete the registration pack and the booking form (termly), indicating days your child will be attending, before your child can start at the club.

Booked sessions are fixed and non-refundable. However you can book additional days if needed by completing ‘extra session form’ (Forms are found at the After School Club and School website).

Please remember that we need to know if your child will not be attending the club for any reason. Even if the school has been notified, you still need to notify us, as the school does not automatically pass this information on to us. If your child doesn’t attend a booked session, we will have to treat them as a ‘missing child’ unless you have notified us of their absence. In case of illness or emergency when notice cannot be given, please call as soon as you can or drop us a text message.
