1. Accounting Information Systems Internship

Stagwell is seeking a part-time intern who will support the implementation of a mid-market ERP, Intacct, across a network of companies. This position offers high visibility to both the leadership of the private equity firm as well as the portfolio companies. You will work directly with our third-party system implementation partner, the private equity implementation team, the Chief Financial Officers of the private equity firm and the portfolio companies, and system end-users. You will support day-to-day migration activities that includes standardizing processes for information maintenance and storage as well as structuring and transferring. You will help our team to work faster and smarter by recommending and implementing portfolio best practices. This position is scheduled through the end of 2016 with a possible extension into 2017.You will also support the drafting of accounting memos that document any changes in accounting methods, processes or workflow that result from the implementation of the system. As such, the candidate must demonstrate and ability to research, structure, apply and communicate accounting and system work flows that are derived from highly technical sources. To do this, you will become an expert in the Intacct financial software, a leading cloud-based accounting system endorsed by the AICPA, as well as all of the modules that Stagwell is implementing (i.e., Consolidation, Project, Revenue Recognition, Time, etc.).
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing information import templates (i.e., clients, vendors, current period transaction, etc.)
  • Importing and validating historical data;
  • Drafting memos consistent with Stagwell’s structure and format;
  • Developing financial and operational reports, which may differ from company to company; and
  • Providing post-implementation support.
Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a degree in Accounting Information Systems or Accounting with experience in systems;
  • Demonstrate the ability to research and draft technical positions that are related to accounting technical requirements.
  • Demonstrate experience managing multiple tasks and projects, simultaneously; and
  • Experience working with Intacct, NetSuite, or other cloud-based financial accounting systems is a plus.
