Air Action Classes - Policies 2017

1 Term Fees

1.1 Fees are payable on a term-by-term basis.

1.2 Term dates are as outlined on the waiver.

1.3 Classes will not be held on public holidays.

1.4 If the heat reaches 40 degrees classes will be cancelled & the opportunity to make up the class will be scheduled

1.5 Air Action will advise of any changes prior to the commencement of term via Text message or Email.

1.6 Air Action will not be responsible for parents/guardians not receiving notices and/or updates, if parents fail to notify Air Action of a change in contact details.

1.7 Fees must be paid upon commencement of the first class of the term, Air Action will not allow a child to participate if fees have not been paid.

1.8 Term fees are non-refundable under any circumstance.

1.9Fees cannot be transferred into a ‘Air Action bouncing session’.

1.10 Fees cannot be transferred into a credit regarding anything but strictly ‘Air Action classes’.

1.11 Fees are not transferable under any circumstances. This includes transferring to siblings, friends, or any possible participants.

2 Attendance, Make Up Classes & Illness/Injury

2.1 Air Action does not offer any casual/pay-as-you-come classes.

2.2 At the discretion of Air Action, a once-off trial class at a reduced rate may be offered and only applies to the first class.

2.3 Make up classes are only available during the term, on the day and time that Air Action approves.

2.4 A maximum of 2 make up classes can be arranged per term. Only if a medical certificate can be provided.

2.5 Air Action does not offer makeup classes for any missed classes, as most of our classes are full and we need to keep coach to student ratios at a safe level.

2.7 If a participant is severely ill/injured, and unable to complete the term, a medical certificate must be provided to Air Action with the dates the child cannot complete, a credit will thenbe given for the following term classes.

2.8 If the participant is no longer wanting to continue their classes with Air Action, they may cancel their position but no refund will be given as stipulated on the trampoline class waiver signed at the beginning of the term.

2.0 It is not Air Action or the coaches’responsibility to follow up missed classes, parents must contact or talk to the coach in person to discuss this.

2.10 Parents must notify the coach if their child is unable to attend a class due to sickness or other reasons.

2.11Medical certificates must be presented within a week of the missed class.

2.12 Classed missed due to sickness or injury must be made up within the term unless advised otherwise.If the class is not made up before the end of the term - no credit or make up class will be given for future dates.

2.13If the participant misses the scheduled make up lesson, no refund or credit will be given.

3. Seating Area

3.1 Parents/guardian/siblings are not permitted to sit on the floor area during classes, however are welcome to sit in the foyer area. This is so students have fewer distractions and can get the most out of their lesson.

3.2 Parent/guardians are welcome to watch their child perform skills learnt no earlier than 5 minutes before the class ends.

3.3 Air Action classes are a sibling free zone.

3.4 If parents/siblings are wanting to bounce for the duration of the student’s lesson, they are required to see Air Action reception staff to process payment and collect wristbands and socks. Family members are welcome to bounce freely for the duration of the lesson but are not permitted in area the lesson is taking place or communicate with the participants.

4. Class length:

4.1 All classes have set start and finish times.

4.2 All Students are required to arrive on time so that they don’t miss the warm up activities which are important in the prevention of injuries.

4.3 If a participant is late to class the time missed cannot be made up.

4.4 Our ‘Beginner’ students may be offered up to 15 minutes ‘free time’ in class to allow them to practice their skills at their own pace.

5. Drop Off/Pick Up

5.1 All children under the age of 12 must be picked up from inside the foyer of Air Action. Parents of Children 12 years old and over are not required to enter the gym to pick up the children.

5.2 If a child is under the age of 12 a parent/guardian or family member over the age of 18 must remain in the centre's foyer for the whole duration of the child’s class.

5.3 Students are not directly supervised outside of class times, Air Action takes no responsibility at these times. This includes students who arrive early or are collected late.

5.4 If you are going to be late, please phone Air Action or text Chantelle to advise, so we can make sure your child is aware.

6. Safety, injury prevention and behaviour

6.1 Participants must arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your class, to warm up and stretch.

6.2 You must inform your coach prior to commencement of the class of any injury. If any injury is sustained during a class, you must immediately notify your teacher.

6.3 Participants must warm up and stretch prior to attending classes and performances.

6.4 It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that you follow tumbling practice instruction by your coach to avoid injury.

6.4 Students must follow safe tumbling practice instruction given by their coachalways. You are responsible to clearly notify the relevant coach prior to commencement of a class, if the Student has an injury or other medical condition. Some conditions may require medical clearance before recommencing classes

6.5 If the participant is not carrying out safe tumbling procedures they will be asked to sit out for their own safety.

7. Photos Policy

7.1 Photos may be taken by Air Action for promotion and advertising.

7.2 Photos/videos may be taken for educational purposes for staff and the students.

7.3 For privacy reasons, Air Action requests that parents refrain from taking photographs of their children whilst in class with other children.

7.4 If parents do wish to take photos or videos of them performing flips and tricks we do ask for this to be done outside of class time.

7.5 If parents do not wish for this to take place whilst their child is in class, please advise at the beginning of enrolment.

8. Drink Policy

8.1 All students must bring their own drink bottle to class.

8.2 Fluid intake before, during and after exercise is essential for all athletes.

8.3 We allow drink breaks, for water consumption only, every 15-20 minutes or more frequently depending on the temperature.

8.4 Air Action will provide access to fresh water from the café and toilets to refill the participants drink bottle upon request.

8.5 We also recommend two glasses of water prior to and continued consumption after class for optimum fluid replacement.

9. Food Policy

9.1 Air Action prohibits the consumption of food during any class, unless the class is over 3 hours in length.

9.2 We recommend that a snack of carbohydrate rich foods be consumed up to one hour prior to class.

9.3 Trampolining is not generally an endurance sport and therefore the consumption of food during class is not recommended.

10. Uniform Requirements.

10.1 No school uniforms

10.2 Hair tied back neatly always

10.3 Air Action socks

10.4 No jewellery

10.5 No denim

10.6 No belts/buckles/zips or other solid items that may injure participants or coaches.

10.7 Comfortable clothing i.e. close-fitting T-shirt and shorts, bike shorts, leggings, and crop top, or leotard, are suitable clothes that are strongly advised to be worn.

11. Discipline Policy

11.1 To create a safe and fair learning environment for all who participate in our trampoline classes, a level of order and consistency must be provided and maintained. The following discipline policy is in place to protect those wishing to participate in our classes free from harassment and risk of injury.

11.2 All coaches have a duty to prevent foreseeable injury to all who participate.

11.3 All students have a duty to prevent injury to themselves and others.

11.4 Students must abide by Air Action’s rules and the classes rules.

11.4 Implementation of the following actions will take place if a participant is placing themselves or others at harm, not following instructions or abiding by coach’s instructions.

11.4.1 Strike One - Participant must sit next to the coach (or in a reasonable designated area) for no less than 5 minutes and no more than 10 minutes

11.4.2 Strike Two – Participant must sit outside the class (either in the office with a staff member or in the foyer with their parent) for no less than 5 minutes and no more than 10 minutes.

11.4.3 Strike Three – Participant must leave the class for the entirety, get dressed and watch the class (under direct supervision of an adult). Parents will be contacted to pick up the student early and to discuss the behaviour of their child.

11.5 If this is an ongoing issue a meeting will be held to discuss the student's behaviour.

11.6 No refund or make up class will be given for time missed due to behavioural issues.
