1Welcome

Meeting started at 2.40pm.

The Chair welcomed and thanked the Alcohol Reference Group (ARG) members for attending. Apologies received from Stewart Naylor, JB, Greg and Ian.

Today’s ARG is to further discuss and reshape the AMP in relation to a response received by each NT government agency.

Also, to discuss and plan the next steps to undertake before the AMP is sent to government for their endorsement.

A)Minutes

There are nil Minutes to ratify as both the December 2014 and February 2015 ARG meetings were to discuss the draft AMP with the Minister. No Minutes were taken during these meetings.

2Draft Alcohol Management Plan

The government’s response was tabled and the Chair went through each response. This followed by discussion on whether the ARG would accept/not accept, amendment/not amendment government’s comments.

The following strategies had received comment from government agencies and the ARG members provided the following comments:

The ARG members went through a next steps process. The following steps were agreed:

1)Update the AMP to reflect today’s decisions

2)Widely distribute the AMP to seeking community feedback

  1. Place advert in TC Times (8 & 22 May)
  2. Email the plan to local service providers
  3. Hold a follow up community forum on 26 May
  4. Submission to close on 29 May

3)Meet in June to review submissions

4)Update the AMP to reflect community feedback

5)Send the AMP to government for endorsement

Action: Meet the week of 18 May to finalise community forum arrangements
