Global Consultancy Service Coordinator
Summary: Reporting to the KCS Training and Consultancy Manager, this role will support Keeping Children Safe to implement an ambitious new scale-up strategy developing our portfolio of services and extending our global reach via KCS Consulting.
Location: CAN Mezzanine, London/Flexible
Reporting to: KCS Training and Consultancy Manager
Salary/Grade: £30,689 - £ 35,534 dependent upon experience
Duration: One year initially with possibility of extension subject to funding.
Background
Keeping Children Safe was established in 2001 by some of the leading humanitarian relief and development charities in response to the growing realisation that children were being abused by aid and development workers in emergency camps in West Africa. It represents a commitment by those working in development and relief to protect children worldwide by developing and promoting a set of robust and comprehensive safeguarding standards that all organisations can and should follow. As a result of our services and through our network of members in over 120 countries, millions of children worldwide are now better protected from abuse and exploitation.
KCS Consulting is the only consultancy service in the world that is part of a coalition established specifically to address issues of child abuse and exploitation in international aid and development. We work globally with civil society, private sector and government organisations and offer direct access to the leading source of child safeguarding knowledge, experience and tools available in the world today. This new role will support Keeping Children Safe to implement an ambitious scale-up strategy developing our portfolio of services and extending our global reach via KCS Consulting.
Main Duties:
Strategy and Project Management
· In conjunction with the KCS Training and Consultancy Manager, support the implementation of a strategy and business plan for the training and consultancy service.
· Support the implementation of a quality assurance and monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) strategy for KCS training and consultancy services.
· Develop and maintain efficient project management and administrative systems for the consultancy service.
Financial and Contract Management
· Support the Line Manager inbudget preparation and financial management of all consultancy activities to include, annual budget setting, monitoring and reporting on budgets and expenditure.
· Support the Line Manager with contract negotiation and management acting as a key point of contact throughout the contract.
· Analyse and report on financial and sales data in order to support the Line Manager in developing business strategy and reporting to the board.
Managing Stakeholders
· Build, develop and maintain relationships with donors, international and southern NGOs and other providers of consultancy services.
· Service requests by clients for tailor-made training and manage contracts with clients and training deliverers.
Communications
· Work together with Communications and Advocacy Manager and support the KCS Training and Consultancy Manager in communicating, promoting and marketing the work of the consultancy, including developing training resources and marketing materials.
· Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality.
Any other duties that may be reasonably required of the postholder.
Person Specification
Essential
Experience:
· Demonstrable experience of managing international projects and contracts.
· Extensive experience of undertaking, overseeing and evaluating projects/services including audit and quality assurance processes.
· Substantial experience of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
· Proven experience of planning and managing budgets including financial control procedures and risk management.
· Experience of working with contact management/database systems and the ability to establish and maintain effective administrative processes/systems.
· Experience of training and consultancy.
Skills:
· A high level of numeracy and excellent financial management skills.
· Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
· Proven planning and organisational skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge:
· A willingness to develop knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and child protection.
· Knowledge of international development and the relief and development sector.
Personal qualities:

The Appointment
· The appointment will be on a full time basis. Start date July 2015.
· The leave allowance is 25 working days per annum.
· In view of the nature of the work involved, any offer of appointment will be conditional on a satisfactory Disclosure Barring Scheme checks.
