SECTION 03 41 00 STRUCTURAL PRE-CAST CONCRETE
PART 1 GENERAL

1.04SUBMITTALS
A.Product Data: Submit manufacturer's product data with application and installation instructions for proprietary materials and items, including forming accessories, admixtures, joint systems, curing compounds, and others.
B.Design Mixes: Provide for each concrete mix. Include alternate mix designs when characteristics of materials, project conditions, weather, test results, or other circumstances warrant adjustments.
C.Shop Drawings: Submit shop drawings for fabrication, bending and placement of concrete reinforcement. Comply with ACI publication ACI 315 "Details and Detailing of Concrete Reinforcement", showing bar schedules, stirrup spacing, diagrams of bent bars, arrangement
of concrete reinforcement. Include special reinforcement required and openings through concrete structures.
D.Material Certificates: Provide materials certificates in lieu of materials laboratory test reports when permitted by Architect. Material certificates shall be signed by manufacturer and Contractor, certifying that each material item complies with, or exceeds, specified requirements. Include ASTM Certifications.

PART 2 -PRODUCTS
A.Design Mix:
1.5000 psi, 28 day compressive strength for typical units.
2.3500 psi release strength for prestressed units.
B.Formwork: Plywood or metal panel formwork sufficient for structural and visual requirements.
C.Reinforcing Materials:
1.Reinforcing Bars: ASTM A 615, Grade 60, deformed, Fy = 60ksi.
2.Steel Wire: ASTM A 82.
3.Steel Wire Fabric: ASTM A 185, welded.
4.Supports for Reinforcement for Exposed to View Concrete: CRSI Class 2, stainless steel protected legs.
5.Prestressing strands shall be uncoated 7 wire stress-relieved steel strands conforming to ASTM A-416, grade 270K.
6.Threaded inserts shall be of loop type and shall have a pull-out and shear strength equal to or greater than a "Superior LLT-6 3/4 inch diameter threaded insert.
D.Concrete Materials: ASTM C 150, Type I or Type III, Portland cement; potable water.
1.ASTM C 33, normal weight aggregates.
2.ASTM C 330, light weight aggregates.
E.Concrete Admixtures: Containing less than 0.1 percent chloride ions.
1.AirEntraining Admixture: ASTM C 260.
2.WaterReducing Admixture: ASTM C 494, Type A.
F.Connection Materials:

G.Grout:
1.Portland cement, ASTM C 150, Type I; sand, ASTM C 404.
2.3000 psi, 28 day compressive strength.
3.Nonmetallic shrinkageresistant grout, minimum compressive strength of 7,000 psi at 28 days, CE CRDC621.
H.Finish:
1.Formed Surfaces: Commercial finish.
I.Bearing strip: continuous 1/8inch x 2inch neoprene or similar material.

PART 3 - EXECUTION
A.Install precast concrete members plumb, level and in alignment within PCI MNL-116/117 specified limits of erection tolerances.
B.Solid precast units shall have a smooth as-cast finish unless otherwise indicated on the drawings. Submit samples for the Architect's approval prior to commencing work.
C.The precast concrete manufacturer shall provide tests and records according to the PCI Manual for Quality Control for all precast items, whether prestressed or not, and shall maintain the necessary records in an orderly manner available for inspection at any time.
G.Provide sufficient bracing to maintain stable, plumb conditions during erection until the structure is stable by virtue of completed connections. If bearing of concrete masonry, provide 1/8" x 2" continuous compressible bearing pads. Install steel shims and plates as required for complete level and plumb execution of the work.
H.Erection Tolerances:
1.Variation in plan: 1/2" for any member at any location.
2.Deviation in plan from straight lines parallel to specified linear building lines:
a)1/40" per foot for adjacent member less than 20 feet apart.
b)1/2" for adjacent members 20 feet or more apart.
3.Deviation from plumb: 1/4" for any 10 feet of height, 1/2" maximum for the entire height.
4.Variation in elevation of bearing surfaces: 1/2" for any member at any location.
5.Variation in specified clearance to an adjacent independent member: 1/4"
6.Job in alignment of matching edges: 1/4"
7.Variation from specified bearing length on support: 3/4"
8.Variation from specified joint width: 1/4"
I.Field cutting is not permitted unless approved by the Architect and indicated on the approved shop drawings.
