2015-2016 ZONTA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM APPLICATION

We are pleased to announce that Zonta of Annapolis is making available three (3) $1000 scholarships for the 2015-2016 school year.

Application Guidelines:

  • This program is designed to assist women residing in Anne Arundel County who are college-bound high school seniors or students in either an accredited undergraduate or graduate school program.
  • To be eligible, you must be enrolled or planning to enroll this fall as a part-time or full-time student at an accredited college, university, or trade school.
  • All applications must be postmarked by April 10, 2015. Incomplete applications and those postmarked after the deadline will not be considered.
  • Finalists will be notified by May 15, 2015.
  • These grants can be reapplied for each year.
  • A listing of the 2015-2016 scholarship recipients will be e-mailed to all applicants no later than June 1, 2015.

Requirements:

  • In accepting the scholarship, the recipient must agree to attend at least one regularly scheduled Zonta Club meeting in the first year of her scholarship.
  • During this meeting, she must give a 5 to 10 minute presentation regarding her academic and community service accomplishments, as well as her professional and personal goals.
  • She must also agree to be contacted by the Club after five years to help the club evaluate the effectiveness of its program.
  • Once accepted, a check for $1,000 will be sent directly to the recipient’s school and be credited to her account upon endorsement by her and the school.

Zontians give time, talent and energy, especially in the area of women’s development, health, education, and cultural needs.
