IT Support Staff

Zingerman's IT department is looking for someone to join us in providing awesome customer service using social and technical skills. Yes, both. Is this you? Do you want to work in a fun and learning environment? You would be providing IT support for the staff at the Zingerman's businesses as part of a team of 5 and you'll be responsible for computer maintenance to on call support to proactive project management, and more.
Job Responsibilities

  • Provide an awesome level of service to our clients
  • Assist staff in making most effective use of technology
  • Provide technical support to staff and troubleshoot and solve issues
  • Install, modify and maintain stand-alone and networked computer systems and applications
  • Prepare and conduct classes on a variety of subjects
  • Prepare recommendations for purchasing new hardware and software
  • Install and maintain basic infrastructure Ethernet and phone wiring
  • Negotiate warranty repairs with vendors
  • Assist with and manage projects
  • Manage user accounts
  • Document regular procedures
  • Support cell phones
  • Manage support contracts and warranties
  • Manage and enhance Active Directory systems
  • Inventory, track, and maintain database of all technical assets
  • Monitor and respond to help desk requests
  • Travel between businesses during work day providing on site support
  • Respond to and resolve alerts from server monitoring systems to ensure critical systems are operational 24 / 7

Desired Skills
3 years experience with Microsoft Server 2003, Active Directory, Apple OS X, Windows XP and 7, Microsoft Office, wireless and Ethernet standards, general hardware repair, troubleshooting/repair of printers and copiers. Familiarity with firewall and VPN configuration, backup methodologies, anti-malware and anti-virus solutions, Google Apps for Business, Joomla and Wordpress, and cell phone support. Good communication skills are essential.

Salary and Benefits
This is an entry-level position, pay based on experience, $14-16/hr, workdays M-F 9-5 with some flexibility for occasional weekend or evening work.
