Food
Everyone please bring two boxes of granola bars or prepackaged crackers, or some kind of snack to share that does not need refrigeration. We will be throwing these into bins for snacks to share. All other food will be provided and we will feed you well, and you will have access to snacks at all times. Do not bring other food…it attracts bugs and mice and other creatures!
Arrival at Church
· Have out upon arrival at church (do not pack in your bags): Helmet, and snacks to share. We will put these in appropriate bins.
· Please have your small day sack with you, separate from your other gear with these things in it.
- Water bottle
- Sack lunch
- Clean clothes for after the cave
- Clean shoes (sandals will work)
- Head lamp (must be at least 100 lumens with new batteries)
- Large garbage bag for dirty wet clothes
- Helmet (if it fits in the bag, great)
· Arrive at the church in your caving clothes, and sturdy water shoes or shoes that can get wet. (If you don’t want to wear a swimsuit, just wear clothes that can get wet and muddy.) The cave temperature is 55-60 degrees. It is suggested that you wear light weight pants and have a light weight long sleeve shirt. We will be climbing over rocks that might scratch your legs so long pants are also good for extra protection. Eat breakfast before you come or pack a very big lunch!
Please pack ALL of your gear in a duffle bag, dry bag, or backpack that you can easily carry. (You can have your sleeping bag, pad and pillow in a separate bag if needed. Compress as much as possible.). Make sure your name is clearly marked on the outside your bag. Put duct tape on the bag and write your name with permanent marker.
We encourage you to pack as lightly as possible because we have limited space in the cars. We will be putting all personal gear in the van you come in, no trailers! If you have any questions, please contact Laura Dawson at 704-421-3222
