ABOUT:
The Youth Guidance (YG) programs at STEM are designed to meet the social, academic, and emotional needs of STEM students through a diverse collection of engaging activities. YG provides a safe and supportive environment in which students are free to learn, create, share, and grow along with their fellow participants. Each staff member has extensive childcare experience and is committed to ensuring that each child has a positive after school experience. We communicate regularly with school administration and faculty to ensure a smooth transition from the regular school day with clear and consistent expectations. Please visit EXPECTATIONS:
The After School Program is committed to the goals of STEM Magnet Academy in providing a safe environment for students to develop their social-emotional skills through self-awareness and social interaction. We join the rest of the STEM community in their classroom management expectations supplemented by a strong foundation in CHAMPS, both positive and proactive behavioral support strategies. We also meet regularly with STEM faculty and staff to link common behavioral patterns between the school day and after-school, and devise appropriate behavioral interventions when necessary.
COMMUNICATION: Regular communication will be upheld between the Youth Guidance staff and families regarding important program information like schedule changes, policies, events and special programs as they become available throughout the school year. Staff will always be available to answer questions and address concerns during program pick-up. The Resource Coordinator will also maintain consistent school-day office hours throughout the week. This time can be used to schedule appointments with parents or to communicate via phone. Parent-Teacher conferences will also serve as an important touch-point for aligning student after school engagement with their academic and social-emotional needs.

●The full time and part time program will start Tuesday, September 5th, 2017 and run through Friday, June 15, 2018
●Fall 2018 classes will begin the week of September 18th, 2017
●Enrollment is ongoing and registration can start with at least 24 hours advance notice as long as space is available. However, monthly tuition and enrichment classes are not prorated based on late arrivals and late registration
●Each day, all students enrolled until 5:45pm can have homework help, enrichment activities, recess, and snack time based on your registration type.
●All applications, consent forms, and enrichment registration forms need to be completed online
●All enrichment classes require a minimum number of students to be registered at the beginning of the session for the class to run, if minimum enrollment is not met, classes will be canceled and parents will be notified.
Late Pick Up Policy
After School Hours: Monday–Friday, 2:45–5:45pm
●A $15 fee will be added to your account if you are 5-15 minutes late to pick up your child (after 4:00pm, 5:00pm, or 5:45pm)
●If you are 16-30 minutes late to pick up your child a $30 fee will be added to your account
●If you are 30-45 minutes late to pick up your child a $45 fee will be added to your account
●If you are 45-60 minutes late to pick up your child a $60 fee will be added to your account
●If you are 60-75 minutes late to pick up your child a $75 fee will be added to your account
●If you are more that 75 minutes late, you will be charged $15 for each additional 15 minutes you are late to pick up following the same structure as above.
●After three excessively late pick-ups (30 minutes late or more,) your child will be excluded from the program, refunds will not be given for missed classes
●After late fees have been applied to accounts, parents have one week to make their payment for fees.
Punch Cards
●This is a 5-Day Punch Card for admission to the Youth Guidance Extended Day Program at STEM Magnet Academy.
●Each punch is worth one drop in day that includes care until 5:45 and participation in our homework/recess activities for that day.
●If you have not purchased any other youth guidance services for the 2017-2018 school year, you will be charged a once a year additional $100 registration fee.
●Families cannot use a punch card more than 3 days in 1 week.
Punch Cards (cont.)
●A punch card can be used to extend care for the day as well. If you child is enrolled in part time care until 4:00 or an enrichment until 4:00, you can use a punch to extend care until 5:45 for that day.
●To register for a day to use your punch, please email STEM Resource Coordinator at at least 24 hours before you would like to use the punch. If you do not schedule the punch date with STEM's Resource Coordinator, your registration is not complete.
●Once you schedule a punch and indicate a day that your child is going to stay, your card will be punched regardless of the amount of time your child spends in the program on that scheduled day.
Enrollment Options
FULL TIME-Fully Loaded -$360/month*
●Everyday after school, between September 5-June 15, until 5:45 pm.
●This enrollment option also includes access to all of the staff lead enrichment and Homework/Recess classes offered each day.
●Enrollment is ongoing throughout the year; families can enroll at any time!
●A $100 non-refundable registration fee/per school year is due at the time of registration to secure each child's space in the program. This fee is in addition to tuition fee.
PART TIME 4:00-$310, M-F until 4:00pm, every school day between September 5-June 15
●This enrollment option also includes access to all of the staff lead enrichment and Homework/Recess classes offered each day from 3:00-4:00.
●Enrollment is ongoing throughout the year; families can enroll at any time!
●A $100 non-refundable registration fee per student per school year is due at the time of registration to secure each child's space in the program. This fee is in addition to tuition fee.
PART TIME - 3 days-$310/month: 3 days/week until 5:45 pm
●This enrollment option also includes access to all of the staff lead enrichment and Homework/Recess classes offered the 3 days enrolled.
●Enrollment is ongoing throughout the year; families can enroll at any time!
●A $100 non-refundable registration fee per student per school year is due at the time of registration to secure each child's space in the program. This fee is in addition to tuition fee.
ENRICHMENT ONLY - Fall 2017
●M/TH (10 weeks), T (11 Weeks), W (9 weeks), F (8 Weeks) - (Sept 26-Dec 9)
●The enrichment only option is when a child is signed up for the program by the class. It includes all class options such as Robotics, Drawing, Homework/Recess time, cooking, etc.
●Students who only want enrichment classes can sign up per enrichment and will attend specified session from 3:00 pm-4:00 pm or 4:00-5:00 on the chosen enrichment day. Fall enrichment class will run on school days September 26-December 9, 2016. Certain classes will have additional supply and vendor fees.
●All Enrichment fees are due at the time of registration along with $100 non-refundable registration fee/per school year. All enrichment classes require a minimum number of students to be registered at the beginning of each session for the class to run.
HOW TO REGISTER
Please complete each step below. Your child is not fully registered until each step is completed. Please email the Resource Coordinator, Melanie Unterfranz () if you have any questions about your registration.
STEP ONE - Read over the Youth Guidance Registration information Packet and make sure you understand the Youth Guidance Policies before registering.
STEP TWO - Set up an account on ASAP is the Youth Guidance Registration and Billing portal.
●This portal is where you will register for classes and make tuition payments.
●Please make sure you save your login and password.
STEP THREE - Register on ASAP for your Extended day option.
●Since your child will attend the STEM Magnet Academy Program, you must register for the Extended Day STEM Magnet Academy options.
●This is where you will make your payment for the $100 non-refundable/non-transferable registration fee to Youth Guidance .
If you register for the Full Time or Part Time programming before August 15th, you will save $25 on the registration fee.
If you currently have an outstanding balance with Youth Guidance, your child may not register or attend After School Programming until the balance is resolved. You can check your ASAP account to confirm the status of your account.
REGISTRATION DEADLINES:
•Regular Registration - To start After School Programming on the first day of programming, September, 5th, you must complete your registration by Friday, September 1st.
•Late Registration - If you register your child after Friday, September 1th at 1:00pm, please allow 24 hours to process your registration.
Spots are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. A wait list will be created once a class is full. If you register for Full Time or Part Time programming before classes are scheduled, you will receive an email when classes open. be the beginning of September.
