Dear Parents,

Your child’s school has invited On Point: Direction for Life to present our Think On Point Curriculum for _girls 6th, 7th and 8th grade in _Physical Education_ class from __November 18th ____ to ____November 21st.

For twenty-one years, On Point (formerly Why Know) has partnered with area schools to equip students with the critical thinking, life skills, and support they need to thrive. This week in Think On Point your child will learn age appropriate topics ranging from pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease to setting goals, avoiding linked risky behavior such as substance abuse and violence, having healthy relationships, and possessing a healthy confidence and resiliency. Students will understand the physical, emotional, mental, economic, and educational benefits of saving sex for marriage.

Rest assured, Think On Point complies with every aspect of TN and GA state requirements for teaching abstinence-centered education as an effective way of preventing teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease and HIV. Think On Point is age-appropriate for 6-12 grades, provides factually and medically accurate information, and utilizes an evidence-based approach.

We encourage you to talk with your child during this series. We also invite you to participate in any and all classes if you desire. We understand that the subject matter that will be discussed is sensitive, and we make every effort to present the matter on grade appropriate levels.

Throughout the program, statistical data may be collected in an effort to evaluate and continue improving Think On Point. All data collected is confidential to the researchers.

Please visit our website at www.liveonpoint.org to learn more and sign up for parent updates.
