Monday 12th January 2015

Dear Parent,

Young Voices at the O2 – Wednesday 28th January 2015

We are all gearing up for the final few rehearsals we will be having in school to prepare for the Young Voices concert at the O2. The children are sounding absolutely great and I know it will be a memorable occasion for us all.

I have included below need to know information for you in the run up to the concert and arrangements for the day itself, in particular, what the children need to take with them.

In preparation for the concert the children should bring with them on the 28th of January:

  • Wear black / dark blue jeans / tracksuit bottoms / trousers
  • Wear a white t-shirt. Please keep any patterns / logos to a minimum. As plain as possible.
  • Bring a packed tea to eat at the arena before the concert.
  • Children are allowed to take with them a small torch to wave at certain times. They cannot be torches with beam lights as this will affect the lighting effects in the arena. They should be small enough to be kept in a trouser pocket.
  • Children and adults are not allowed to take cameras of videos cameras into the arena. These will be confiscated by O2 staff.

What happens on the 28th of January?

Children come to school in the morning as normal. They need to bring with them the above.

We will be eating lunch at school as normal. If children eat a packed lunch then they should bring one as normal as well as a packed tea.

We will bus all the children to the O2 arena. We will be leaving school at approx 1:15pm.

The children will be in our care until the end of the concert.

What happens after the concert?

Parents who are attending the concert and taking their children home with them should meet us after the concert at the bottom on the 02 cinema’s escalator. Parents MUST ensure that their child’s teacher has been told that you are there to collect them so we can account for all pupils.

For children not being collected at the arena we expect to be back at the Crown Pub at approx 10pm, allowing for traffic leaving the O2.

Tickets

We have received the tickets today. Mrs Windham is going to send these out to parents via 2nd class mail. These should be posted tomorrow. If you haven’t received tickets you were excepting by Monday of next week please contact Mrs Windham.

Can I please urge you not to lose these tickets. We have been told that those people who have lost tickets will have to wait until all the ticketed audience are seated and will then only be allowed to sit near their school if there are gaps!!

If you haven’t ordered tickets from the school and want to attend the concert you will need to purchase these directly from the O2. They are available to buy online at or by calling the O2 ticket office on 020 8463 3250.

If you should have any queries or concerns about these arrangements then please call me or email me.

Yours sincerely,

Miss Sophi Betteworth
