We learned a little about bats this week and made some Halloween decorations for our classroom – jack-o-lanterns, mummies, bats, and ghosts. We are working hard in math as we learn to count a set of objects and record our set. We had a great letter review in reading and we finished up our Goldilocks and the Three Bears stories. / Next Week: October 23 - 27

Tuesday, October 31!! The kids can wear their costumes to school and bring play clothes to change into afterwards. We will have a parade through the school from 8:30-9am and then a party from 9-10am. The kids are welcome to bring treats to pass out to their friends. We have 18 students and the only food allergy I know of is to seafood. Parents are welcome to come help with party activities! We will take care of the planning and getting the activities, materials, and snacks ?
Report Cards and Parent Teacher Conferences
Y5 kids will get a detailed progress report on Monday, October 30. Parent Teacher Conferences will take place on Wednesday, November 1 from 5-7pm and on Thursday, November 2 from 1-3:30pm and 5-7pm. You must call the school office to set up your conference time. You may begin calling on Monday, October 23.
Thurs. Nov. 2 is a ½ day with dismissal at 11:30am and no latchkey.
Fri. Nov. 3 there is no school. / Yoga
We will have a few classroom yoga sessions over the next few months - like “in house” field trips. The cost will be $4 per child. Please send in the money by Wednesday, November 1.
Muffins with Moms
Moms are invited for breakfast on Friday, November 17 from 8-8:30am. If mom can’t come, please send an aunt, grandma, or other female friend!
