JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:Business Development Manager

BASED IN:Wembley, Brent, London

REPORTING TO:Chief Executive Officer, YBF

HOURS:40 hours a week, including lunch and breaks, worked flexibly to include evening and weekend work where necessary

LEAVE:25days’ holiday per annum plus bank/public holidays

CONTRACT:Permanent, Full time

SALARY:£28,000 - £35,000

PENSION:Staging in line with Auto Enrolment Workplace Pension Scheme

TRAVEL:Travel around Brent and London wherenecessary

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Business Development Manager will work as part of the Young Brent Foundation Management Team, taking responsibility for leadership and management of business development, ensuring that the Vision, Values and the Mission of YBF are put into practice.

The main duties will be the business development of a Sector Consortium, Facility and identifying, sourcing and securing resource for allocation to YBF and its Members.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

YBF

  • To oversee business development to support the Strategic and Operational Action Plan in order to achieve sustainability and stability and to support the Young Brent Foundation core offer i.e. Sector Consortium, Facility, Venue Bank, Sector Development, Small Grants and additional funding streams
  • To be responsible for building strong relationships with fundraising bodies and partner agencies
  • To monitor and evaluate business delivery success
  • To monitor the quality of business development including contract management, development, grants, bid writing, trading

Funding

  • Implementation of the funding strategy
  • Development of funding streams (funding matrix) e.g. contracts, grants, donations
  • Contract management – bid writing and implementation
  • Achieve the business targets contained in the Business Plans
  • Develop a funding database and systems

Business Development

  • To have input and strategic influence in the Business Plans for the Sector Consortium and Facility Development
  • Setup, implementation and development of the Sector Consortium
  • Facility development including Project Management, Trading, Enterprise
  • Setup of YBF Small Grants programme and funding distribution to Members
  • To identify, source and deliver business opportunities e.g. contracts, grants, facility, tradingin line with the funding matrix
  • Review, monitor and evaluate success

Staffing

  • Development and Line management of the Funding and Facility teams required to deliver the YBF Strategic Plan
  • Recruitment, selection and induction of the Funding and Facility teams
  • Performance Management and CPD for the Funding and Facility teams
  • Work closely with the CEO and SDM to ensure holistic business management
  • Deputise for CEO as and when required
  • To communicate and be a role model for the Culture, Vision & Values and Mission of the Young Brent Foundation

Other Duties

Carry out any other duties as required by the CEO or Directors including:

  • To attend, where appropriate, local, regional and national meetings
  • To maintain a good knowledge of national and local initiatives which are of benefit to the organisation, young people, sector organisations and volunteers
  • To provide written reports for YBF and to attend meetings when required
  • To administer own workload, including meeting targets and deadlines inline with the YBF Performance Management System
  • To attend relevant CPD training events in line with Performance Management appraisal
  • To undertake responsibility, as part of the team, for all Health and Safety work related matters
  • To work within the guidelines of YBF policies and procedures
