Homework due Friday 7 January 2011.

  • You will teach these pages to the rest of the class.
  • To prepare, you will need to take at least two pages of careful Cornell notes.
  • Make sure you can explain what is going on in the text—especially where the text becomes confusing. Most importantly, make sure that you can explain the significance of this lengthy passage. After, you teach this material to the class, your peers should be able to write an “A+” essay if they were given these pages during an examination.
  • You will present to the rest of the class. You will sit at an expert panel. One person will read the page(s) aloud. Then you will discuss the passages, so that your peers can take written notes or “sticky” notes.
  • If you do not have at least two pages of careful Cornell notes prepared for the presentation, you will not be allowed to present. There are two grades here: one for the presentation (you must talk at least once) and one for the preparatory notes.
