How do we determine if a historical fiction novel is accurate?
Task:
Your job is to research your topic and present it to the class. We are using this historical information to answer our essential question and determine if Mildred Taylor’s historical fiction novel, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, paints an accurate portrayal of history. So, you want to make sure you know the dates, and the most important aspects about that event. Your class will have a quiz based on the most important events.
You must:
Participate in creating a presentation for your class via PowerPoint, or Google Slides
Be in school the day of your presentation
Have a works cited page
Have images
Be able to elaborate and answer questions about your topic
Be a clear, solid presenter, and stand on the proper side of the board
You May Not:
Have full sentences on your slides
Read from notecards
Have inappropriate words or pictures on your slides (ask if you have a question)
Ride on the coattails of your group
