You are worth it!!
Look in the mirror. What do you see?I see the most important key to our world’s future. I see a person who will make big changes in how the world operates, a person who can possibly end poverty, cure cancer, bring peace to warring nations, or even make big leaps in clean energy options.
You may not be able to do these things today, but be patient. Invest in yourself and your education now. Then, change the world.

Dear Parents
I am very excited to be working with you and your student(s) this year. I am a firm believer that, if we work as a team (you, me, and your student), your child can accomplish great things. If there is ever a time when you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. My contact information is included in this brochure. The best way to contact me is via email. If you would like to talk to me on the phone, please email me first and I can call you during my planning period or after school.Grading:
Each Quarter:Learning Tasks (Homework and Class Work) - 10%
Quizzes: 30%
Unit Tests (4 per quarter): 60%
**If a student has 1 or fewer unexcused absences in a quarter, one test grade may be dropped.**
Mid-Term: Counts as a fifth test grade in the second quarter and cannot be dropped.
Final Exam: Counts as a fifth test grade in the fourth quarter and cannot be dropped.
The Algebra I Georgia Milestones Test will be taken in May and will count as 20% of your student’s overall Algebra I grade.
The final breakdown for grading goes as follows:

Milestone’s Test: 20%
/ A detailed syllabus will be sent home on the first day of school. Please read over those details with your child, including grading and discipline procedures. Be sure to sign the syllabus and send it back the next day.
Tutoring
I make a point to be available to students for extra help should they feel like they need it. This help is offered on an as-needed basis. Students may stay after school for help on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45 – 3:15. It is the responsibility of the student to arrange for a ride home.Help is also offered in the mornings from 6:50 – 7:20. Students, if you struggle with a homework assignment, please make arrangements to see me the next morning before school to get help. Not doing homework because you “didn’t understand it” is not a valid excuse. I am always here to help.
You Can Do This!!!!
