My Poem

A Teacher - 2015

You are just a teacher is what you might say,

When I become one, one day.

I may not have the greatest pay,

But your children will be the light in my day.

You see Sir, Ma’am, Madam, or Miss,

Being a teacher is a lot more than this.

I will teach your child to have love learning,

And to seek out their dreams that they have been yearning.

I will dry their tears with my gentle touch,

And give them big hugs when their day is too much.

I will comfort them in times of need,

Or wipe away their tears when their bruises and bumps bleed.

I will keep your child safe in my arms,

And keep them away from any form of harm.

A teacher is not just a teacher in a school,

And if anyone thinks so, then they are a fool.

If a teacher is just a teacher to you,

I believe your thoughts would change if you only knew.
