Planning of “New Paddler” information meeting. – info: speakers for history, our framework eg – teams, coaches to attend, gear needed, etc.

Publicity for new dragon boat season and Information Meeting IE: Roadside

Boards. “Sign up notice” in the papers, and any articles, or announcements

On radio and or TV for recruitment. Posters ready for distribution, by board members.

Returning paddler registration info sent out + any changes from Early Bird, by December 20th.

JANUARY

Registration continues

New Paddlers’ Information Meeting held (early January)

Paddlers” team choice confirmed-by end of January

At end of January/beginning of February team lists sent out to coaches and managers. No later than Feb 15th.

Complete paddler packages and have ready for team meetings

Review last year’s committees’ recommendations and paddler “survey” requests

Plan date for “new Paddlers” orientation session.

Plan calendar of events for the year.

FEBRUARY

Send out team job descriptions to team manages, for elections of team leaders

Teams set up first meetings and advise membership chair and Board, of dates with copies of team lists to the board.

Calendar of dates for season announced, including Intro club Races, Final Fling and any social or community events

Team leaders’ Workshop/meeting planning

Teams advise when plan to start paddling

Coach Liaison puts out list of regattas

MARCH

New Paddlers’ on water orientation

Plan Fill the Boat for Food Bank event

APRIL

All teams now paddling

Wine and Cheese

MAY

Summer new paddlers introductory session planned

Prepare for entry for Canada Parade (application etc.) looked after by Event Coord.

Boat and shed clean and winter storage date arranged. Any repairs needed/damage noted and handled.

Feedback Survey sent out to all members

Past Chair (head of nominating committee) send out request for Board members for Board members for following year, with job descriptions.

Book Seaside Centre for Annual Meeting in November

OCTOBER

Coach Liaison checks with coaches if willing to coach again following season and if same days and times and sets up October wind-up coaches’ meeting

Coaches’ wind-up meeting, potential new coaches, steerspersons identified

Early Bird Registration information sent out with tentative schedule for following year. No later than October 20th

Team bookkeepers’ reports requested by Treasurer

Board Members’ reports including financial requested for Annual Meeting

Feedback survey is compiled

Planning of next year’s “information paddler “poster” to be ready for distribution and displayed by December.
