Conditions of Entry
- Pre-paid entry is required. No late entries accepted. No refunds after closing date except with Vet Certificate less $10 administration fee.
- Entering this event constitutes acknowledgement that PCAV rules apply and acceptance of these rules. PCAV rules may be found at
- PCAV club member cards are required on the day and must be presented for inspection at the event office before riding. Cards must be accurately completed.
- Helmet standards apply as per current PCAV rules. Random checks may be conducted throughout the day.
- Medical Arm Bands are required.
- Saddlecloth numbers or bridle numbers supplied by competitors or organising committee may be used
- All competitors must present for gear check at least 15 minutes before riding each event.
- Plaiting is optional.
- Full uniform must be worn in all phases including presentations.
- No Dogs or Alcohol are permitted – no exceptions.
- The Judge and/or Ground Jury may disqualify any rider for abuse or ill-treatment of a horse; dangerous riding, lameness; sick or exhausted horse. Ill-treatment or abuse includes - use of the bit as a reprimand; whipping as a reprimand after the necessity for an immediate and appropriate correction has passed; whipping horse with the reins or any object. Ill-treatment or abuse is forbidden under penalty of elimination.

- The Organising Committee reserves the right to cancel or change any class or event; divide any class; alter advertised times; refuse any entry, with or without stating the reason.
- Lungeing is only permitted in the designated lungeing area.
- Neither the Organising Committee of this event nor the PCAV accepts any responsibility whatsoever for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, riders, ground spectators or any other person or property.

The Competitions and Manner of Judging
The following events are run under Table A and the specified Articles contained in the FEI rules
Class 1 – One round followed by a jump-off (Article 238.1.2)
1.2. This is a competition not against the clock with a time allowed but in the event of equality of penalties for first place there will be one jump-off against the clock. Other athletes are placed according to their penalties in the first round.
Class 2- Competition over Two Rounds – (Articles 273.2.1, 3.3.2, 4.3)
1. This competition comprises, with the same speed, two courses, identical or different, either in track or in number of obstacles or in the dimensions of the obstacles. Each rider must participate with the same horse.
Riders, who have been eliminated or who have retired during the first round, may not take part in the second round and may not be placed.
2. All the riders have to take part in the first round. The following go forward to the second round according to the conditions of the schedule:

4.3 Riders will be placed according to aggregate penalties over both rounds and the time incurred in the second round.
Showjumping Points System
Once places have been determined for each event, this points system is used to determine the final overall places. This applies to both the Fimister Shield and Presidents Cup scoring.

Presidents Cup – Competitors must compete in both events to have the results of the Fimister Shield events counted towards their Presidents Cup score.
A rosette will be awarded in each grade to the rider judged to demonstrate the best Equitation over the day.
