DEAR PARENTS/CARERS,

Thank you to all the parents who have supported us with this weeks Science week – it’s really been an inspirational week that the children have enjoyed hugely. They developed some great investigative work and have particulary enjoyed working with their peers in different year groups.

Year 2 have even been skyping NASA today!

Sadly the weather has meant we didn’t fully see the eclipse but many classes streamed the event live in the classroom whilst others went outside to witness the notable darkening of the sky!

If you get a chance please pop into the small assembly hall to see evidence of the childrens work across the school.

A huge thank you to Mark our Science Leader for masterminding such a great week of learning!

P.T.A. AGM & QUIZ NIGHT

Last night saw the annual AGM of the PTA with the re-election of Caroline and Suzi the co-chairs.

This was followed by an excellent quiz compared by Mark and Holly.

Thankyou to all the parents who supported and helped the PTA run the event but also to the wider parent body for attending our events and raising essential funds to help the school.

The PTA are always looking for keen volunteers to help out and if your interested please contact Caroline and Suzi – we would really like your help and support.

PUNCTUALITY

On Tuesday we did a real push on punctuality – handingout slips to parents whose children were late and finding out why children hadn’t turned up on time.

I am shocked to hear how a number of parents were incredibly rude to the staff who were carrying out the schools and local authority procedures to support families who are having difficulty getting their children to school on time. There are several things all parents need to bear in mind:

1. Being late hugely damages a childs learning and

unsettles them for the day.

2. Angrily challenging a staff member in front of the child makes the child even more uncomfortable and further affects their learning.

3. The school will not tolerate rudeness or abusive language to any staff member and if this happens again the school will protect its staff formally.
