SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER – Mayor Weiss called the meeting to order at approximately 7:09PM.

MEMBERS PRESENT – Mayor Weiss, Council members Holbrook, Dame, Chubb, and MacDonald

APPROXIMATE NUMBER OF AREA RESIDENTS PRESENT – 5

MAYOR AND COUNCIL REPORTS OR ANNOUNCEMENTS – Mayor Weiss and each Councilmember commented.

AREA RESIDENT COMMENTS OR ANNOUCEMENTS – Jennifer Molzen addressed Council regarding an urgent matter involving the abandoned home next door to her and the unsafe nature of said property. Jack Schofield also commented.

Special Meeting Agenda

1. DISCUSS FLORIDA RURAL WATER BID PACKAGE FOR WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT AND THE INDUSTRIAL WASTE PERMIT –

Councilmember Chubb made a motion to accept Sterling Carroll with Florida Rural Water’s proposal for Specific Assistance Agreement.

Councilmember Holbrook seconded the motion.

Motion carried unanimously.

Councilmember Holbrook made a motion to contract with Florida Rural Water to prepare the Industrial Waste Permit.

Councilmember Dame seconded the motion.

Motion carried unanimously.

2. RESTORE GRANT APPLICATION –

Councilmember MacDonald made a motion to submit the Restore Grant application for assistance with the water main.

Councilmember Chubb seconded the motion.

Motion carried unanimously.

3. WASTE PRO RECYCLING – Mayor Weiss addressed Council regarding the options available to the Town through Waste Pro. There was a long discussion regarding various ways to get the word out to residents in order to let them vote on their choice.

4. ADDITIONAL HOURS FOR JASON CONLIFF/CASUAL LABOR - Mayor Weiss previously discussed this issue during the Budget Hearing prior to this meeting.

5. INTERLOCAL FIRE SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN YANKEETOWN AND INGLIS –

Councilmember Dame made a motion to approve the Interlocal Agreement with the Town of Yankeetown and the Town of Inglis as written.

Councilmember Chubb seconded the motion.

Motion passes unanimously 4-0 with Councilmember MacDonald abstaining from vote due to possible financial conflict.

6. VOTE/RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADVANCEMENT OF FIRE FUNDS –

Councilmember MacDonald made a motion to accept Resolution 2016-08.

Councilmember Dame seconded the motion.

Motion carried unanimously.

7. COUNCIL TO SET DATE AND TIME TO DISCUSS POST DISASTER BUILDING REPAIRS, AND DISCUSSION ON THE ESTIMATED COST OF DEBRIS REMOVAL-

A lengthy discussion followed regarding the Grubbs debris removal process.

ADJOURNMENT - Hearing no objections Mayor Weiss adjourned the meeting at 9:36 pm.
