Psalms 56:8

Written By: Richie Bell, Jr.

When a love one dies the coroner will examine his body and investigate the cause of his death. The coroner would take out the liver, lungs, heart, kidneys and complete a through examination to explain what contributed to his or her death.

But! So far I’ve never observed a coroner with all of his medical degrees and expertise examine a tear or tears and come up when a conclusion of what caused the tear of the deceased.

Let consider this thought. The human brain consists of two sides, both left and right hemisphere. Now, the woman brain has something connected to her brain that the man don’t have enough of called the corpus callosum, and it is much thicker for the female than the male.

The left side of her brain deals with the physical, but the right side of her brain dealswith the emotion. This side of the woman brain makes the women cry quicker than a man.

The scan of the female brain shows that both left and right hemisphere are workingactively while talking is carried out, only the left hemisphere is mainly committing in a man's brain. Therefore, it can be assumed that men learned the way to communicate without relying on the language as much.

David had gone through some difficult times in life and shed many tears. David requested “Lord Don’t put my tears in a book” please put “My tears in a bottle” why not on paper?

During David’s time tears were shed in a bottle by mourners and put into the tomb of a departed love one.

The Persians assemblies of morning the priest would collect the tears in cotton and squeeze them into the mouth of the dying and this would preserve their life span a little longer.

If God would have put David’s tears in a book the tears would have evaporated out of God’s Minutest Book “The book of life” which recorded the life of David. So! He requested God to put his tears in a bottle, so when he met God in heaven God would explain what those tears meant that David couldn’t understand “Why God would take him through what he went through”………

There are three types of tears I would like to take a look at today, and I’ll take my seat.

The Tears of Deception:

The Tears of Desire:

The Tears of Division:

#1. The Tears of Deception: David and his Sons.

David had family problems:

David was the eighth and youngest son of Jesse from the kingly tribe of Judah. He was also a direct descendent of Ruth the Moabite. David began his life as a shepherd inBethlehem. One day, the prophet Samuel called him out of the field and anointed him to become the King of Israel.

I can imagine David’s personal tearsappeared when his son Amnon raped Tamar, Amnon’s half-sister. Absalom, who was David’s son and Tamar’s brother, then killed Amnon and fled.

Absalom was a handsome man and became popular with the people of Israel. Then, 40 years after Samuel had anointed David king, Absalom, along with 200 men, journeyed to Hebron with the intention of rebelling against his father and taking over his kingdom.

Adonijah, David’s oldest son, declared himself king when David was upon his sick bed, after David promised Bathsheba that Solomon would become his successor.

Somebody in here is having Family Problem “The main problem maybe those Children”

#2. The Tears of Desire:1 Samuel 1Hanna’s and Peninnah

Right off the bat we learn that Hannah was married to a man with two wives. This is a recipe for disaster! Yet, Hannah was not looking for the exit! She stayed in the family and she worked to make the best of a bad situation!

Peninnah agitated Hanna every chance she received, because of her barrenness

Hanna although Peninnah got on her last nerve the bible mention her desire was “Lord fixmy problems” and when she was in the temple praying Eli the priest encouraged her to go out of the temple by saying “Go in peace the Lord will answer your prayer” ……..

Hanna realized that her tears never hit the floor……an angle caught her tears and carried them to God’s heavenly throne…………………….

Somebody is crying today because of desire, and it’s alright to cry. K-Sweat said in his song when he cried to cover his tear he sung “I wanna go outside in the rain”…………

#3. The Tears of Division:John 11:35Jesus wept over Jerusalem……

This must be one of the most touching passages in the Gospels. Here we see the Lord Jesus Christ weeping over the city of Jerusalem. It is a touching thing to see anyone weeping, even a child………………………………..

There is something infectious about tears. When we see a child or a young person in tears it has an effect upon us. However, the stronger the person who weeps the more powerful the effect is upon us. In family everyone look up to the stronger person….

Example a Funeral…………………………………………………

We are more affected by seeing a strong man weeping than a child. As we grow older, we weep more in secret, less in public, than we did as children. If we were here simply looking at the case of a great man weeping, it would be touching enough. What we see in fact is none other than our Lord and Savior Himself, Jesus Christ, and He is weeping over Jerusalem because of Division.

Closing Story:

One day a preacher who had just lost his family to a tragic fire, and had fallen into the depths of a deep and dark depression was walking down a city street. There, he came upon a construction crew that was erecting a new church. He stopped to watch them as they worked, as he watched, he observed a worker who was busy carving a triangle out of stone with a chisel and hammer. Stepping closer, he asked the stonecutter what he was carving.

The worker pointed tothe steeple of the church and said, "Do you see that small opening up there near the top of the steeple? Well, I am carving this stone down here so that it will fit in up there."

We live in a world that is filled with people like this man. People who live their lives in a period of Death, Desire, Depression, and Division. But! God is chiseling on us down here before we can go up there.

We might shed Tears down here But!......

Revelation 21:4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

“Lord Put my tears in a Bottle”…………………….

Psalm 30:5weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning……………
