The One-Act Play

Assignment: For this assignment, you are required to write script (one act play, radio play, satirical sketch, sitcom snippet, or puppet show). The script should have a few characters interacting over a 5-10 minutes (real time). There should be few or no scene changes. We will read samples as a means of target assessment and we will have mini-lessons geared at creating fantastic plays.
Requirements:
- Before you begin your project, you must first decide if you would like to work alone or with a group or partner.
- Then brainstorm possible conflicts and characters. Remember: this one-act is a few people over a short period of time [the performance should last at least 5 minutes].
- You must include the following:
Stage directions/sound effects
A cast/character list
A props list
Note: You can use websites and programs (ex: Google Docs) for writing your play.
DUE DATE: TBA. You can email your play to Mr. Lawrence or submit a hard copy by the due date.
Plays will be accepted before that date, but all scripts must be submitted on the due date for full credit.
