eLearning Specialist

The e-Learning Specialist is responsible for developing, managing, maintaining and publishing all web based training courses and recommending and utilizing additional complementary technologies to enhance the effectiveness of our training programs. This position will also deliver training as needed, using a blended learning approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Needs Analysis - Interfaces with a diverse group of internal clients from various organizational levels to gather information and determine if there is a training need. Collaborates with Learning & Development to assess whether the training need is best met with an online solution, instructor led training or a blended approach. Identifies subject matter experts and gathers the required source content. (30%)
  • Development of Training - Content Develops learning that incorporates sound instructional design principles including: Optimizing content for learning delivery. Designing appropriate learning content, feedback and remediation sequences and practice exercises. Designing appropriate pre-and post-test evaluation tools. Develops lessons using company selected learning development tools. Creates and maintains a consistent learning development environment using templates and other standardized development tools. Creates exercises using company-selected software. Creates instructional graphics using company-selected software (as appropriate). (30%)
  • System Administration - Posts courses to the Learning Management System using company-selected communication protocol. Recommends and utilizes additional training methodologies and technologies to enhance training programs. Provides primary administration of the Learning Management System, including but not limited to creating sessions, assisting with enrollment, running reports as needed. Serves as internal WebEx administrator. Serve as a back-up administrator for our customer (member) service survey system and reporting tool called Net Promotor Score (NPS). (30%)
  • Training/Facilitation - Provides training as needed/appropriate via WebEx. Facilitates other training as needed/required via a blended-learning approach. Other duties as assigned or requested. (10%)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred,
  • 5 years of experience in instructional design, blended and/or e-Learning delivery strategies preferred,
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design theory and adult learning principles,
  • 5+ years of experience managing a Learning Management System (LMS),
  • Financial industry experience a plus,
  • Familiarity with contemporary learning development, including e-Learning, and delivery tools,
  • Intermediate to Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office,
  • Excellent communication, consulting, and organizational skills,
  • Strong writing, copyediting and proofreading skills,
  • Strong knowledge and ability to use software-Learning development tools (Articulate, Snagit, and Captivate preferred),
  • Ability to be a self-starter and manage multiple tasks in collaborative team environment,
  • Ability to learn new skills.
