The role is to provide an ethnically sensitive respite care service to members of both the Jewish and local community, which underlines their right to choice, control, independence, dignity and quality of life.

The respite care worker is responsible for providing quality, person centred, respite care support for people inside their own homes. Accurate record keeping is essential as is having a valid driving licence for the UK.

The respite care worker is responsible for providing quality, person centred, respite care support for people inside their own homes. Any changes in the client’s emotional and physical needs including dietary requirements must be reported to the Moorcare office.

Tasks are carried out in accordance with individual care plans.

The role includes a range of tasks to maintain respite support and care for people living in their own homes in the community, allowing them to achieve maximum independence.

Key requirements

  • To provide respite care to the clients or their main carer in their home
  • To immediately report any changes in the users emotional and physical needs including dietary requirements to the Moorcare office.
  • To respect the religious and cultural beliefs of service users and their families
  • To undertake any other duties as required by the Moorcare Team
  • Post requires a full driving license and use of a vehicle and business insurance
  • To comply with all policies, procedures and legislation
  • To attend meetings, training courses – occasionally outside agreed normal working hours.
