WHAT the TRAINEESHIP IS ABOUT
Department / Service / Department for VET systems and Institutions
Project description / VET policies and systems (VPS)
Project outputs / outcomes / VET in Europe country reports, Spotlights on VET, National news on VET, country fiches of VET policy developments for stakeholders, other publications, providing information needed to respond to ad-hoc requests.
The trainee’s main duties and tasks / As part of the VPS team the trainee will:
-  contribute to improving in-house tools and methods related to monitoring progress of VET reforms in EU Member States and Norway and Iceland;
-  contribute to designing and developing tools and interfaces that enhance collaborative data processing and improve data extraction and dissemination capabilities;
-  support VPS team members in tasks related to preparing thematic and country-specific information, VET in Europe reports, spotlights and other publications.
Expected learning outcomes / Practical experience in designing, developing and applying data management tools and interfaces.
EU knowledge and insight into the policies and processes of European institutions.
Broad knowledge of EU VET policies and systems and related areas.
Experience in customising/drafting/editing information for different target groups.
Practical experience in the day-to-day business of an EU agency.
Intercultural competences.
Experience in working in a multinational team, with people of different educational backgrounds and professional experience.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Academic background and other requirements / Degree, preferably in social sciences, policy, education sciences combined with information management.
English C1
Very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Word (advanced functions like macros) and experience in working with databases.
Desirable
Experience/exposure / Experience in working with data collection and survey tools.
Database design and development with SQL or Microsoft Access.
Experience with computer-assisted/web-based data collection and analysis.
Knowledge of VET system(s) in at least one EU country.
Experience in teamwork.
