PRESS RELEASE

Worthing Lions Bonfire Night Firework Display

At 8pm on Saturday 5th November the Town Centre will be rocked with bangs, crashes, oooh’s and aaah’s as the Worthing Lions Club massive firework display takes place from the end of the Pier. Thousands of families will come down to promenade to watch the display which this year will feature a terrific climax.

Tony Holley, Chairman of the Worthing Lions Festival Committee said ‘this will be the third year that Worthing Lions Club and our sponsors have organised the firework extravaganza on Bonfire Night itself, but this year it’s going to be better than ever!

The display is going to cost £6,000 and unfortunately we still have a shortfall of about £2,000 so we are asking the public to give generously to our bucket collectors who will be in and around the promenade both during and after the show. Official Lions bucket collectors will all be wearing bright yellow tabards with Worthing Lions Club printed on them and carrying sealed yellow buckets.

There will be lots of additional events taking place in the town centre during the afternoon and evening, including Coles funfair on the promenade, live music and food stalls in South Street, face painting in the Pier Pavilion and a children’s parade through Steyne Gardens and Warwick Street. These have been organised in conjunction with Bartie Presents. Please see our website for full details of the events and times.

Potential sponsors for the fireworks can also contact us through our website - worthinglions.co.uk

We want to ensure that this event continues to be a special day that the whole family can enjoy.
