Department of Minnesota Scholarship
Department scholarships are awarded to deserving sons or daughters, grandsons or granddaughters of a veteran who are in need of financial assistance to avail themselves of higher education at the post-secondary level. These scholarships are to be applied only toward the expense of tuition, books, or similar fees, at an accredited institution of higher learning. Each scholarship will be paid directly to the school in the amount of $1,000 for any one year. Satisfactory progress must be made with grades reported to the Department of Minnesota. Children of Warriors National Presidents’ Scholarship
Fifteen scholarships will be awarded for the 2014-2015 Auxiliary year. Three scholarships will be awarded in each Division of the American Legion Auxiliary; one in the amount of $3,500; one in the amount of $3,000, and one in the amount of $2,500. Spirit of Youth Scholarship for Junior Members 2014-2015
Five scholarships in the amount of $5,000 will be awarded for the 2014-2015 Auxiliary year. One scholarship will be awarded in each Division of the American Legion Auxiliary. All are gift scholarships and not loans. Candidates for this award shall be/shall have been Junior members of the American Legion Auxiliary for the past three years and must hold a membership card for the current (2015) year. Scholarship for Non-Traditional Students
Five scholarships, each in the amount of $1,000, will be awarded for the 2014-2015 Auxiliary year. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in each Division of the American Legion Auxiliary. All are gift scholarships and not loans. Candidates for this award must be a member of the American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, or the Sons of the American Legion and shall have paid dues for the two preceding years and for the calendar year in which the application is made. Applicants must be a non-traditional student returning to the classroom after some period of time in which his/her formal education was interrupted or a non-traditional student who is just beginning his/her education at a later point in life. Buick Achievers Scholarship Program

Milford O. Larson and Lois M. Larson Scholarship Program
Applicants to this scholarship program must be graduating high school seniors with a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 grading scale who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at a four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year pursuing a course of study in one of the following technical areas: science, business, technology, engineering, pre-med, accounting, or pre-law. Joyce Ivy Foundation Summer Scholars Program
- Eligibility:The Joyce Ivy Foundation Summer Scholars program is available to female high school students in Michigan, Ohio, Nebraska, Missouri, Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota. Summer Scholars are typically in the top 10% of their high school class and are currently in 10th or 11th grade; however, we have named Summer Scholars who are currently in 9th grade. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Students from Missouri are not eligible for Joyce Ivy scholarships to remain in-state to attend Washington University in St. Louis. Past Summer Scholars have expressed that it is extremely valuable to have a chance to travel out of state.

The Past Presidents Parley Health Care Scholarship, a one-year scholarship for $1,000.00, has been established to assist needy and deserving students or adults to commence or further their education in any phase of the health care field including the entire medical, nursing, and dental support fields. The State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship
The State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship does not require a high GPA, but rather focuses on students who are leaders and volunteers in their communities and demonstrate financial need.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a 2015 graduating high school senior.
- High school seniors must have a cumulative GPA between a 2.5 and 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
- Plan to enroll full-time for the 2015-16 academic year at an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university or vocational-technical school.

A scholarship will be granted to individuals who will graduate from area high schools and plan to continue their education by attending college, vocational school, or trade school. T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood MINNESOTA’s Judy Lindman Memorial Scholars Program
The Judy Lindman Memorial Scholars Program is a forgivable loan project of the Minnesota Child Care Resource and Referral Network. The loan is repayable through employment at a legally regulated child are or school age care program located in Minnesota. Eligibility requirements include: 1) high school senior in good standing; 2) high school GPA showing marked effort, improvement, or success; 3) must be planning to enroll in an accredited community and/or technical college in an associate’s degree program majoring in early childhood education or child development; 4) must have a disability or special need; ORbe a member of a community of color, migrant, immigrant, or refugee community; ORbe an English as a second language learner.

New Ulm Area Sport Fishermen/EE Mecklenberg Environmental Scholarship
At least one $500 scholarship will be awarded. Students must be planning a career in the environmental field and intend to enroll in an accredited 2 or 4-year university or college. The scholarship check will be disbursed after the recipient has completed the first quarter/semester of college in the fall and shows verification that he/she has earned a minimum 2.250 GPA during the first quarter/semester of college. Students must submit a high school transcript (GPA will be considered, but will not necessarily be a determining factor). Students must submit at least two (no more than three) letters of recommendation. (At least one should be from your school and one from an outside source.) Students must submit a resume showing any environmental work or activities (paid or volunteer) you have done. Students must write an essay (no more than one page) telling us about yourself, why the environment is important to you, and what your future goals are. Applications are due by March 27, 2015.
Minnesota Women’s Golf Association
This scholarship is a $3,000 per year renewable for four consecutive years which totals $12,000, and it is made available to high school senior girls residing in Minnesota and planning to enroll in a four year college program the year the application is submitted. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of scholastic rating, financial need, and school achievements, leadership, and activities. Although skill or excellence in the game of golf in not a criterion, candidates shall demonstrate an interest or involvement in the sport. The applicant must have a grade point average of 3.2 or above, and a copy of the submitted FAFSA form must be included showing the parents income level for the past year. This must be included when the application is sent or the application will be considered incomplete. Applications are available in Mrs. DeBerg’s office. NDSU Agriculture Leader Scholarship
Incoming(freshman and transfer) students enrolled in any major at NDSU may apply for this award sponsored by Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. Selection is based on academics, extracurricular participation & demonstrated leadership as they relate to agricultural activities (school, FFA, 4H, work, etc). Two, $1,000 scholarships are available for applications submitted by March 31st, 2015. SFM Foundation Scholarship
Renewable scholarships of $5000 per year for up to four years is available for students whose parent/guardian has been injured or killed in the course of working for a Minnesota or Wisconsin employer. Employees of First National Bank Scholarship
A $250 scholarship will be awarded to a senior who 1) has shown interest in the field of business or agricultural business and 2) be a person who strives to excel in community and life and possesses those qualities associated with good citizenship. The recipient must attend a college or vocational school the year following graduation from Springfield Public High School. The scholarship will be awarded after completion of the first semester of college. Children of employee(s) will not be eligible for receipt of this scholarship.

National Independent Health Club Association Scholarship

Clean Air Choice Biodiesel Essay Scholarship
The American Lung Association in Minnesota and the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council are inviting any interested high school seniors to apply for the Clean Air Choice Biodiesel Essay Scholarship. The rules are fairly simple: current high school seniors in the state of Minnesota with plans to attend postsecondary education are eligible to submit a brief (1,000 words or less) essay on the topic of biodiesel. Two scholarships will be awarded. The first place essay writer will receive a $1,000 scholarship; the second place essay writer will receive a $500 scholarship. All essays and application materials must be submitted to the American Lung Association in Minnesota by 4:30pm onFriday, April 3, 2015. Sylvester Schunk Educational Scholarship
~The Sylvester Schunk Educational Scholarship committee will award scholarships to high school or college students enrolled at an institution of higher education.To be a qualified applicant you need to have a Sanborn or Springfield address and be a full time student.Thescholarship is open to any field; however, Sylvester’s priority is in the agricultural field.

Charles & RoseLynnWingert Scholarship
A $1000.00 scholarship has been created byWingert Realty & Land Services Inc., Charles & RoseLynn (Rathman) Wingert. Wingert Realty & Land Services, Inc. have done several land sales/auctions in the Springfield area and wanted to show their gratitude and encourage young people to continue the dream of a career in the agricultural field. All graduating seniors from Springfield Public School are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The recipient will be chosen on the basis of individual character and recommendations. The scholarship is intended to go to a student planning to pursue a career in agriculture or engineering. If no candidate meets the criteria, it is preferred the recipient have an agricultural background. Applications are due in Mrs. DeBerg’s office by April 15, 2015.
Jim and Lauretta Bean Scholarship
An applicant for the Jim and Loretta Bean Scholarship must be a graduate of Springfield Public High School who is beginning his/her junior year in college and is majoring in the field of journalism or elementary education. Funds will be released at the beginning of the student’s third year in college and will be payable to the college.
Scholarships will be awarded according to the following criteria: 1) Grades during first two years of college, 2) Extra-curricular/community activities, and 3) 100-word essay on why the scholarship is needed.
Letters of application should be sent to the Guidance Counselor at Springfield High School along with a transcript of grades, a description of extra-curricular activities, and a short essay. The scholarship will be awarded at graduation ceremonies the same year. Application deadline is April 17, 2015.
JUNIORS: Minnesota Association of Townships:
Awarding up to four $1000 scholarships
Applicants must be a junior in public, private, home school, or parochial high school who is planning to attend a college, university, or vocational school
Must complete an application form and a written essay discussing the topic: “What are the different ways fire protection is provided by townships? How is the cost of fire protection funded by a township and at what meeting is the extent of that cost approved? What challenges are faced by rural fire departments in providing fire protection?”
