| calendar | numerals | literature | army | empire |

Develop the below stuff – what did Rome NOT have? Imagine an area has been cleared and you need to build something on it. What would it be? Who would you dedicate it to? What would be the latin inscription (this might be a good architecture lesson, perhaps).

Task 3: Tying it together

With your research now completed, your teacher will ask you to complete one of the following two tasks.

Option 1: Individual Task

• Produce a tourist brochure designed to advertise a Time Traveller’s Holiday to Imperial Rome. Have different parts of the brochure focus on different types of places. Make it clear why Rome is so interesting, important and exciting!

Supporting resources

Option 2:Group Task

• Your teacher will divide you into teams. You have been challenged to come up with a brand new national campaign designed to generate support for the anti-slavery cause. Using a range of sources and a structured framework for preparation, groups of students have to produce a viable campaign which justifies who it is aimed at, where it will be focused and how it will fund itself.
