Background

Jung had a deep interest in the shadow which he described as the “hidden, repressed, for the most part inferior and guilt-laden (parts of the) personality. The process of assimilating “the thing a person has no wish to be” and becoming familiar with the shadow is an essential part of the therapeutic relationship, of individuation and of becoming more rounded, more whole and more colourful.

Aims of the workshop

This workshop will aim to provide an opportunity to explore some shadow material through art and group discussion.

Janet de Heger

Is an Art Psychotherapist and PsychodynamicPsychotherapist withexperience in NHS, forensic, palliative and educational settings. She currently works part-time as a school counsellor and in private practice as well as leading art therapy and training workshops at The Counselling Centre and other counselling and psychotherapy organisations.
