GENERAL MANAGER

WORKING COUPLE, OR STRONG INDIVIDUAL TO MANAGE GUEST HOSPITALITY OPERATIONS

Currently open to guests from June through October, Smith Fork Ranch is known for its gracious comfort, privacy & stunning mountain scenery; fly fishing, horseback riding, hiking and other outdoor activities; healthy farm-to-table cuisine and exceptional wine cellar.

GM RESPONSIBLE FOR:

1. Managing staff and coordinating all guest operations, services and activities

a. Food & Beverage service

b. Housekeeping and ambience

c. Guest services, comforts and amenities

d. Outdoor recreational programs

2. Managing events and activities*

3. Managing business administration

4. Coordinating facilities** maintenance with property management team

5. Coordinating marketing/sales efforts***

*Events and activities – relate mostly to vacation visits during middle of summer; and farm dinners, weekend workshops, visiting musicians, private parties and retreats during the late spring and fall.

**Facilities include buildings, gardens, grounds, farmstead, fish habitat, water system, horse barns and pastures, all managed and maintained by property management team.

***Sales & Marketing – manage and coordinate sales/marketing efforts with outside PR agency and marketing partners.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:

·  4 + years of small, high-end resort/inn/lodge, full service hospitality experience

·  Hands-on experience managing housekeeping/dining/kitchen/guest services/office-admin of small, high quality inn or boutique resort

·  Appreciation and knowledge of fine food and wine

·  Must understand and be comfortable with high standards in all aspects of hospitality

·  Must have previous successful experience interacting with upscale clientele

·  Ability to “wear multiple hats” and be “hands on” in all aspects of hospitality operations.

·  Strong knowledge in computers/internet/communications technology

ADDITIONAL DESIRED EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES

·  Experience in sales & marketing

·  Experience and interest in managing outdoor activities

·  Experience in operating on a large, multi-faceted, rural ranch property

·  Desire to live in remote area of Colorado, to enjoy 4 seasons recreation in mountains & national forest.

THIS IS A HANDS-ON MANAGEMENT POSITION -- NOT A DESK JOB

Year around position. Compensation and benefits based on experience and abilities. All (staff) meals during guest season when kitchen is open, and year around housing on property included in compensation package.
