Work Based Learning Placement Objectives Document (POD) 2016/2017
Successful work placements tend to have clearly defined tasks that are specified and agreed with the placement provider; this helps everyone to be clear on the essentials of the job and can help resolve problems should they arise. As such it is essential that you clarify with your placement provider key elements of the job such as what you will be doing in the role, what support you may receive, and your required attendance.
The POD is in three short sections:
- Essentials for you to establish before you start on placement.
- A job description for you to complete with your placement providerbefore you start on placement.
- A check list for you to complete whilst you are in placement.
It is your responsibility to complete this document and ensure that it can be made available to your WBL tutor during induction and the WBL Office, particularly should a problem arise with your placement. Our experience in Work Based Learning is that completing this document can help you and your placement provider to understand and align expectations and help resolve difficulties.
