

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent or special diploma required.
Type at a prescribed rate of speed (50 wpm).
Computer operation skills.
Valid Florida Driver License.

To perform varied and advanced specialized typing work in diversified subject areas.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Considerable knowledge in business English, spelling, punctuation; ability to type at prescribed rate of speed and transcribe machine dictation; ability to operate a computer and setup formats and newly generated information and ability to work well with others.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions (Illustrative Only)

Type routine correspondence.
Type transcribed reports which may include specialized terminology.
Create and produce technical reports.
Create and produce merge documents from databases.
Have considerable knowledge of software applications; layout and graphic design; and produce charts, graphs, and agendas.
Answer telephone and provide information, answer questions; have knowledge of e-mail system and Internet use; use fax machine and copy machine.
Provide outstanding customer service and use positive interpersonal communication skills.
Make all decisions and perform all tasks in accordance with Brevard Public Schools Organizational Values.
Ensure compliance with Board rules and applicable federal laws and regulations.
