Community Lacrosse/ Multi Sports Coach

Full or Part Time Community Lacrosse and Multi Sports coach required (48.2 weeks)

Salary: £23097 pro rata pa plus benefits and expenses

1 year fixed term contract (with a 2nd year subject to funding)

In conjunction with our partners, we are looking to appoint a new Community Sports Coach to work in the Croydon area across lacrosse and other sports as required, starting in September 2008, initially for a fixed term of 1 year.

About the Job:

§  To deliver quality coaching opportunities to young people in the 9 - 13 age group in local schools and community settings, through after school clubs/academies & curriculum blocks.

§  To arrange a scheme of performance opportunities to support the delivery including informal festivals and representative assistance for Gifted & Talented pupils.

§  To take a professional approach in the planning, preparation and organisation of teaching sessions in accordance with School Sports Partnership policies.

§  To maintain a comprehensive schedule of teaching as established and administered by the Woodcote School Sports Partnership.

§  To sign post pupils to community clubs and events.

§  To work in conjunction with School Sports Partnerships targets for participation/reporting and development.

§  To enter into a programme of Continuous Professional Development

§  Is subject to a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure

About you:

§  Will have experience of coaching children and young people and show a passion and flare for children’s Physical Education.

§  Must have a qualification at least a level 1 qualification in Lacrosse (level 2 preferred) and at least one other sport or a willingness to work towards this.

§  Be able to work independently with excellent time keeping skills.

§  Be committed to Continuous Professional Development.

§  Be committed to Equal Opportunities.

§  Hold a current Driving Licence.
