Cost: $280. Subsequent riders from the same family $250

Each rider will have 3 ridden lessons daily of 1 hour and 15 minutes. Lessons willcommence at 8am with 15 minutes break between each lesson with 45 minutes for lunch. Each rider will have a dressage, show jumping and cross country lesson and there will be 2 free lessons to ensure a break for both rider and horse. There is also a dressage performance after the close of day 1 from Matt Archibald which will be exciting for all to aspire to, and also on night one Kelly Van Den Berg is offering a free Mindride seminar (nominal fee of $20 to purchase mindride workbook) as per information attached. This seminar is appropriate for those riders aged above 10 years of age.

The Wonthaggi pony club has 4 sand arenas, ample room for show jumping and numerous new cross country fences spread throughout the reserve to test both horse and rider. There are 48 overnight yards available for hire. We have plenty of room for those who are camping, withmains water supply spread around the grounds. We have full canteen facilities, catering for breakfast and lunch daily. Amenities close by include supermarkets, hotels, shops and an indoor swimming pool.

MindRide Sports Performance Psychology Seminar

Kelly van den Berg will be offering an evening seminar taken from her sports psychology performance program ‘ MindRide ‘ The seminar will cover the below topics followed by training path and goal mapping exercises.

The cost of this seminar is free but the MindRide workbooks will be sold at a discounted rate of $20 per participant to cover the costs of printing. The books are required for the goal mapping exercises but are a useful tool in the ongoing development of you and your horse.

OUR INSTRUCTORS FOR 2018

Kelly van den Berg is a professionally qualified Equestrian Australia Coach and has previously undertaken PaardensportBereiter training in The Netherlands. Kelly has 25 years’ experience as a competitor and trainer and 15 years as a coach in her full time coaching business van den Berg Equitation, conducting clinics statewide as well as more recently NSW and TAS.

Kelly has worked for and learnt from a variety of trainers during this time including working for Hamish McCallum American Cutting Trainer, Charlie Moffett Scottish World Cup Showjumper, Hans Bruinen Dutch International Grand Prix Dressage rider, Klass Balkenhol German Dressage master and has worked as a liberty trainer for film, TV and live performance in Australia with Zelie Bullen. In 2012 Kelly was selected as the Victorian Breaker / Trainer for John O'Leary's "Listen to Your Horses" Problem Horse National tour and was a finalist trainer in the Australian Brumby Challenge. In competition Kelly has competed to the higher levels in both show jumping and dressage in Europe and Australia.

Kelly is an experienced and passionate youth educator having coached many young riders to professional and amateurlevel. Kelly is a dressage coach at junior dressage squads as well a youth mentor for kids at risk programs outside of Equestrian sports.

Kelly has recently completed study in sports psychology and continues to undergo training in mindset coaching, NLP and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and now operates a second business called MindRide that focuses on sports performance psychology in Equestrian Sports as well as other sporting arena’s.



Cindy Morrison

Cindy is a leader in the field of sport horse training. Her broad experience in competing, training and instructing means she has a clear vision on how to produce quality horses for the discipline it is best suited for. Cindy is an EFA NCAS Level One, training coach in each of the three disciplines; eventing, show-jumping and dressage, PCAV Level One accredited, has a Bachelor of Education and a current Working with Children check.

Cindy instructs riders to perfect their craft by drawing on her own vast competition experience and has a professional, calm and thorough approach in her teaching style -encouraging riders on the emphasis of horse health and welfare. The instructing is carried out at the Morrfield Farm, through organised clinics or private tuition, all of which are designed to get the best results for both horse and rider.
Cindy is passionate about her field and committed to the training of horses, alongside quality instructorship, Morrfield Farm is a facility of excellence.

Morrfield Farm

Morrfield Farm is a unique equine operation offering specialised agistment, training and instructing services. Run by the highly experienced horse women Cindy Morrison. Morrfield Farm is a purpose-built equestrian property with improved pastures over the 30 acres, an all-weather 60 x 20m arena, stables, and yards. Conveniently located only minutes off the Princess Freeway and within a horse centric area.

We offer horses taken in on long and short term training, lessons and have limited horse agistement. Horses can be prepared for sale, trained and accessed for suitability all in a horse centric, safe and knowledgeable environment.

Matt Archibald

Matt Archibald runs the Victorian Dressage Stables with his Partner Antony Bartlett, in Pakenham South. Here they provide training, agistment, coaching and Riders Retreats, as well as mentoring young riders and providing sales and purchasing support to clients.

Matt began his riding career at the Wonthaggi Pony Club and is delighted to back to coach at the coming camp on 2018...

From those early days at WPC , Matt has gone on to train many successful Dressage horses and riders of all levels.

He currently competes on his own horse AEA Lorenzo , who is trained in all the Grand Prix work and competes at Inter 11 and Grand Prix level around the state. He also competes Lucy Liu VDS - highly spirited mare - at advanced level and ‘Fairmont’ - his newest mount who was imported as a young horse from Germany.

Matt has been a member of the Victorian State Dressage Squad on another he trained - Fairbanks Don Rubin- who was a finalist at Dressage with the Stars as a five year old. Other horses that he trained to Advanced Level Dressage were Belcam Jk Andre , Aadream, Winterkreusse, WP Sinatra, Pfister and Don Duchovny.

Matt is an NCAS Level 1 general coach and has gained his level 11 NCAS Dressage riders certificate.

His focus is on correct basics and providing students with up to date information on position control and biomechanics of horse and rider, and in the welfare and fair training of our equine partners.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • Before riding: All Open competitors must sign a day attendance form; and unless able to PROVE adequate insurance liability as per PCV website, pay an additional $10.00
  • All riders are required to be respectful to the instructors, other riders and all other camp users at all times.
  • No rider is to take it upon themselves to change groups. If there is an obvious error in groupings or riding ability, please approach Anna and discuss with the instructor who will do their utmost to accommodate you. It is quite difficult to place riders is appropriate groups and some minor changes may need to be required. This will be done in consultation with parents, rider and instructors to ensure children are grouped appropriately. This will then ensure all riders have an enjoyable and positive camp.
  • For campers who have generators, it would be appreciated that they be turned off between the hours of 10pm and 6am out of courtesy to other campers if camping in close proximity
  • For those campers that are bringing their own yards, please note that these are required to be portable yards. No electric fencing.
  • Entering this competition constitutes acknowledgement that PCAV rules and regulations apply and acceptance of these rules
  • The organising committee reserves the right to cancel any class or competition; divide classes; alter times; refuse entry with or without stating any reason.
  • No refunds after closing date except with vet or medical certificate. However administration and/or facility fees may be deducted.
  • Neither the organising committee of this competition, not the PCAV accepts any responsibility whatsoever for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, riders, ground spectators or any person on the property.
  • PCAV club member cards must be sighted at time of entry, prior to commencement of classes
  • PCAV insurance policy specifically states anyone not following PCAV rules may be left uninsured
  • Medical arm bands must be worn at all times whilst riding.
  • Queries, protests, horse abuse rules as per the PCAV handbook of By-laws.
  • Current correct ‘standards’ numbered helmets must be worn as specified in PCAV gear rules
  • Gear check conditions as per pony club rules
  • Dogs prohibited without exception
  • Horses must be at least 4 years old, no stallions, colts or rigs
  • PCAV Alcohol policy applies
  • Lunging can occur prior to classes in a designated enclosed arena
