Motivated Marketing god/goddess wanted (Plymouth, MI)

We are. . .

A small software company providing point-of-sale (POS) solutions to retailer businesses throughout the US and Canada. We have hundreds of customers and we're also the largest POS dealer in Michigan. Now we're about to take the marketing plunge.

You are. . .

A relative marketing newbie who'd like to change all that. You're a smart critical thinker, you're organized, and you're good at making things happen. You also have some previous marketing experience and some retail experience, even if it was just a summer job at The Gap. And this part's important: you can write well and speak well, and you can talk to almost anybody without getting your tongue tied.

Now about the "Marketing God/Goddess" thing. . .

We need a super-sharp marketing associate to create, manage and outsource marketing projects that bring our company new business leads. This is the perfect opportunity for you if you have some marketing experience and are ready to get your career to the next level. If you understand the basics and you're willing to do whatever it takes to get results, working at our company could be the move of a lifetime.

Associate may not seem like a big deal, but here's the thing: if you get this position you're going get experience with the full range of marketing from direct mail, email, PR, web marketing, customer contract, copywriting, search engines, video, you name it. If we think it can work, you'll probably get to do it.

All of which means you're going to jam years of valuable marketing career experience into a short space of time. And assuming it works out, you'll get promoted fast.

There's a lot to do here. Some of the things you'll be responsible for include:

• Research, client interviews and customer surveys

• Writing emails, ad-copy and press releases

• Analyzing our business and generating reports

• Tracking and optimizing our marketing efforts

• Campaign creation and management

• Video production

• Email marketing

• Search engine optimization

And don't worry if you don't yet know how to do all of these. If you're smart, a fast learner, a self-starter and not afraid to teach yourself, you'll be fine.

For starters, this is a part time position with a flexible schedule. If it works out you'll move on to full time with less flexibility. Hey, life's full of tradeoffs.
